Beautiful. It is your own style and it made you happy. To the lady in the comments who said they “dropped acid” in order to decorate this way- not every person must indulge in drugs in order to enjoy life and be inspired.

I love her response as to why they did it, it was a manifestation of their love for each other! Don't sleep on The Bronx, there is a lot of culture, beautiful architecture, and eloquent, talented, educated people! That said, being more of a minimalist, the thought of cleaning that apartment gave me anxiety!

Victorian had servants to maintain their homes, even the middle class could afford help. I hope she employs a housekeeper to keep her beautiful home looking its best. No fun if all you do is clean when you're home.

I AGREE! When looking at these types of tours, I just think it's so hilarious to read the comments of all of the minimalists. Some of them sounds so aggrieved and so upset! I think it's just hilarious. There seems to be a resentful tone as if these people don't have a right to design and fill their spaces the way they want to. I love these kinds of spaces there's so much character and use of color. I am just still thinking in my mind of that green wall it just looks so attracting it draws you. Of course having that piano yes I love that. Some of us like things and pictures and textures and patterns and colors and the storyline...

Most interesting room for me was the living room with the tile and wood ceiling. It strikes me that the ceiling wouldn't work without the mirrored wall, its visual weight would oppress a narrow room with windows at one end, and the mirrored wall beautifully both doubles one's impression of the room's width, and adds light. Fun to make something left over by previous tenant work for your design needs.

@Jenny's Road The British use a LOT of wall paper, patterns & color. I was impressed with this home for its individuality, creativity & the ability to transport every person "out of the cold cement city that exists outside." Cleaning any home takes time. If you view a lot of Fashion Designers' homes, they will use a "ton of color & patterns - minimalism is not the focus usually." As you relayed, "every pot there's a kettle & someone will love it."

A lot of these 6 story prewar Bronx buildings have great proportions and bones. Ceilings usually over 8 feet high. And designed with nice windows in every room including the bathrooms. Only problem is floors may not be cement and sound travels to neighbors. Glad this couple got to be creative.

It’s so weird. So many people feel so comfortable being absolutely vile in the comment section, but I am sure they would pretend to be polite civil people if you were to ever meet them in person. What truly is gaudy and tacky and quite honestly just plain old stupid- is the idea that you should act like a complete imbecile as soon as you are given any anonymity. Like grow up people, your comments are being read by the people who made the video, by the people you are directing all the stupidity towards. Have some sense of empathy and let your sharp but witless opinions just stay in a bolted closet somewhere.

Many of us have read stories of the brownstones and gentrification in Brooklyn. The Bronx, particularly the area of "The Grand Concourse" has beautiful buildings, many Art Deco that rival many Manhattan apartments. When they were built in the 20's and 30's they were considered upscale for the day.

The only disgusting thing about this is the commentary. Although I personally prefer minimalism, I love the decor because the owner clearly loves her surroundings, finds joy in it and appears to be so sincere and genuine in her love for her home and her family. She's just adorable and so is her home. Some of the comments are so trollish, vile and unnecessary.

I'd like to use it as an AirBNB... *I wish she would just rent/lease it out instead of selling it. I think it would be FANTASTIC for photo shoots and films too. The palace of Versailles and the Victorian style have nothing to do with each other. The palace of Versailles is in France and was build 1661-1715. The Victorian era refers to Queen Victoria's reign 1837-1901, the Victorian style refers to the style that existed in Great Britain during that time. Also the home is not decorated in the Victorian style or like the Versailles.
