Oh,how much do we love her! She’s smart, funny, interesting, multi-talented, clever, resourceful, has great taste and has created such a charming home to suit her sparkling personality. Who wouldn’t want to hang out with her? And how sensitive she is in her mention of having respect for other people’s belongings at estate sales, so thoughtfully considering these things had value to them and were their lives. I will never view another estate sale without this sentiment in mind. What a gem of an episode with so many wonderful nuances. I look forward to watching it again.

This is one of my favorite home tours on this channel. I absolutely love the pinks and greens that she has used in home, as well as the wallpapers. It makes the home so cozy and warm. She has curated a home to fit her style and way of life. Everything has a meaning and purpose, down to her pretty and quirky shoe collection. This gal knows who she is and, " What you see is what you get." She has a real talent for mixing vintage with modern, i.e. kitchen pendant lights. She does an awesome job at decorating with thrift store finds and not making the space look second hand. 💚💗💚💗💗

I am 73 and have been decorating with thrift store, Goodwill, and yard sale finds since I was around 35, so I love this home. I also live in Dallas. Everything Melissa says about Dallas is true. The Lakewood section of Dallas has 30s homes that have so much architectural personality. Melissa's home has abundant style and personality! Love it.

Move over “Coastal Grandma”, here comes “Town & Country Tenenbaum”! 🥰🙌😍💪🏼 I absolutely LOVE Melissa’s aesthetics, charming personality and humor. The way she described Dallas was perfection! I burst out laughing when she said: “if it dips below 70° the minks come out in Dallas”. 😂😂 Such an accurate statement! Thanks Homeworthy for featuring my beautiful city of Dallas and the incredible talent that we have. 😘

I loved that this tour was of someone's home who was economically accessible. It wasn't - I got these in London or Morocco or somewhere. And It wasn't a everything is custom situation. She worked with what she could find and had. She made big statements using objects that I could actually find in my world. And her home looks high end and definitely "designer."
@theladynextdoor31310 ай бұрын
Agreed! This was an awesome home tour, very inspiring and so pretty. It’s nice to see things that are a little more attainable for most of us who are not necessarily world travelers and such.

Gosh, she is a delight. She’s funny, charming, witty and stylish. But so down to earth. I love this channel all the time, but this is definitely my favorite tour. This home is so beautiful and fun! You can truly see her reflected in everything. I love her philosophy. As interior design becomes more popular on Instagram you see the same thing replicated over and over for “aesthetic”. To the point the word feels butchered. What a delight.

I absolutely love her and her home! She’s the kind of gal you become instant friends with, genuine with a sweet TX soul. My favorite part was when she talked of estate sales and respecting the person who has passed treasures. I would hope someone would treat my pieces the same. My Mother died very young and I was too young to appreciate all of her treasures, from Silver, to pieces from Asia, Italy, good old quality American pieces, to the doily’s, needlepoint pillow cases & fiesta ware. I sure hope whom ever has those pieces treasures them.

So charming. Both the home and home owner. I love the floral chintz and green sofa. Small homes can be tricky to decorate without seeming cluttered. Everything here has a place and though it leans towards maximalism there is a sense of order in every detail. Beautiful home with cozy vibes.

I just happened to click on this. So glad I did. Even though this isn’t my style, by the time she finished, it could be. I enjoyed how much she knew about the history of things in her home, high & low items used, redoing furniture and drapes, making them her own and the stories about the things she loves. Everything came together exquisitely. My favorites - the paintings in the dining room, light fixtures in the kitchen, the coats made by her friend and her sweet cat. The owner is very engaging and interesting. I’d love to attend one of her dinner parties. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. 💝

Absolutely love your genuine personality and your style. Particularly tickled that you poked those who take their design style so seriously -“traditional with a twist” haha (also thrilled to watch a design video and not hear the words “marrying” and “juxtaposition”). You have bold design taste but it’s so tastefully displayed that everything quietly stands out on its own so we can take it all in without being overwhelmed. I’ve seen so many high end “southern” designs that are so cluttered with pattern and “stuff” that it’s dizzying. Good job girl! Love love love your home! And I’m a Nora Ephron fan too!

Lovely, jewel box filed with treasures The floor design, how you enter a room and see another lovely room. But you make it come alive, personal to you and your likes not just something to buy and place in your home, your antidotes, I would love to spend the day with you. High end fabrics & paints with lovely second use items that are so often 'one of a kind' as you can no longer find more than one!...@6:44 Awesome Shell vase! Schumacher fabric (I love fabrics), Scalamandre wallpaper (& gorgeous fabrics also) and your antidotes. The central park reference, WOW. Olmstead came to mind and I would have loved that paper for a home that overlooked an Olmstead Jr. designed lake & park, in my past. The Capri reference to your game table, exotic and fun. The idea of a neutral that at a time of day looks pink "Farrow & Ball setting Plaster". I also noticed your chairs are low back and swivel. In small spaces for conversation space/design asthetics 95% and great at Thanksgiving when that man wants to watch sports without additional space for seating :). I'm only 16 min in and this is getting so long....so Lovely and Personal.

You know that feeling when you watch a home tour and you’re like, “I can respect this, but it’s not my taste.” Yeah… this is NOT THAT. Which is to say I adore every inch of this fabulous space she has so thoughtfully created. If I toured a home with original Scalamandre wallpaper, it would be game over at that moment. Heck, put my offer in over asking. I will be dreaming about the unabashedly girly coral pink paint job on the nightstand in the primary bedroom. Impressed with her restraint to not inject leopard print into every room, as I very well would. I am taking this video as my sign to finally buy a vintage Mahjong set and cabbage ware. Also I need a quick escape coat like toot suite (pun not intended but how nice). I see Dallas and New York and what a wonderful fusion. Her lovely needlework pillows remind me of Vampire Weekend lyrics. I am also 36, with a 60’s haircut, penchant for pink and green, and a W. Anderson username so congratulations, target audience reached. (For the record I also just deleted a sentence that both started and ended with the word “love” so yeah… I love it!)
