Just an American from Los Angeles, here, taking a virtual tour of Norway through one suggested video after another...I'm in great need of cleaner air, open space, mountains, water, and--as your talk at the end describes--getting a break away from cancel culture! -it's really horrible here, in that regard. Stress on stress on stress, as if it weren't already difficult to breathe in this city, under Covid-19, now it's impossible to talk.

Cornelia, thank you so much for bringing up that subject about all of us making mistakes, learning and how we need to allow ourselves and others to do this. I love where you are living now. It is so beautiful. When I was younger, I lived in Norway for a few years and I miss it all the time. When I was looking at your video, the beauty of it made me cry because sometimes I wish I could go back.

I'm in a situation you're describing right now - I guess it's frequently happening everywhere - when I say something even remotely wrong my best friend takes it as a personal offense while I never had an intention of offending anyone. And I got cancelled many times until I make the first move and I'm getting sick of it. You're totally right that other people don't allow you to make a mistake.
@MaryHanneysee4 жыл бұрын
Same here, I merely didn't do something I guess I was expected to do and have been cancelled out by many friends, I have apologised but they aren't open to forgiveness, I don't even know if what I didn't do was wrong, but with everything happening in the world right now it seems people are cancelling more and more people out when we truly need to be together - it's difficult for everyone :( Hope your well though!
@denisdenchev4134 жыл бұрын
@@MaryHanneysee I hope you are well too. Situations like these make you put a fiter on yourself so you don't lose friends which is very unfortunate. I know it has made me more detached which is dangerous and unwilling to comunicate with people who cancel other people out.
@Ana-gq7ce3 жыл бұрын
@@denisdenchev413 I'd stay away from those people. I mean what's the point of having friends if there's no honesty and transparency. If you feel like you can't be yourself around someone it means they are not good for your life and you are not good for theirs either. Just my opinion. Wish you the best♥️ Sending love
@denisdenchev4133 жыл бұрын
@@Ana-gq7ce thank you I'm sending you love as well! What you said is very right- I can't be completely myself meaning I can't say what's on my mind because I always have to put it through a filter and think about how not to offend my friend. A very uncomfortable place to be in I'd say

It's very true what you said, Cornelia, about us learning as we proceed on our paths in life. Even though life demands that we move forward, sometimes we become too burdened and feel like staying put for a while. It's only human and worldly. I wish that you submerge under the soothing balm of nature, and find new wisdom in your life. I've been following you on and off for the past few years, and I always find myself smiling, because I see the changes you've made in myself. But the older I grow, the fonder I become of my past self. So I hope that you're also growing fonder of your child self as well, and lead a good life whether in beautiful Lofoten or anywhere else.

The speech at the end was very unexpected seeing the kind of video that you did, about your house, but was very very appreciated and I agree with all my heart with you. It's very nice to hear others people way of seeing things and maybe you think the same thing but there are so many ways of expressing one thought. @@obannonkr brag? To the best of my knowledge, she did not brag. She was simply detailing the reasons, motives and the need for her abortion. It is not an easy process for any woman. Where she clearly stated that people, within this current generation, struggle to forgive people`s mistake? Don`t be one of them.

So beautiful. You have no idea how lucky you are to be able to go to a place like that, in a country as peaceful as Norway. And loved your message at the end. As a black woman I feel extremely embarrassed over the whole cancel culture. What started off as positive and awareness has just turned into extreme forms of as you said bullying and harassment, and bitterness. It’s embarrassing. And no one can make me think otherwise and I know others see it as a huge problem as well. It’s like we’ve gone from wanting people to be aware and grow and learn, to demanding everyone think, do, say, act, feel, etc how we want them to. And it makes it looks like we have other agendas besides just wanting everyone to be respectful and equal. I absolutely do not agree with any form of cancel culture.

@sweettea0183 жыл бұрын
@@maja2197 it's just something so incredibly different, you know? For us born and raised in warm climates haha. I've seen snow and experienced a cold winter in trips, but the way homes are structured in colder climates are completely different, with things I would never think of (like underfloor heating haha) and I find it so cool. Everything here is designed considering the heat, carpet is not a thing, for eg, and stone floors are really common. And specifically where I'm from in brazil things to alter the temperature of your home are a luxury, not a necessity. It gets hot in the summer but not hot enough that it's unbearable to live without AC (in Rio or closer to the equator is another story). So underfloor heating sounds so out of this world luxurious to me, you know? Everything about countries like Sweden and Norway are completely different and fascinating to me haha. The nature is sooo insanely different. I really hope to visit there one day (:

I have a theory about why people love to find scandals on others who are doing something to be proud over. It’s simple, they like to feel less of a loser. The minute they find out that you’re not as perfect as you appear, it’s like they can breath now because by your scandal it turns out that you’re imperfect as well. But ironically, if we stone you for Your mistake we end up feeling so much better about ourselves. We do that mostly with women from WOMEN. For instance , “she’s a successful entrepreneur but it’s because her dad is rich “ Or “she’s so beautiful and perfect, but she is single because she can’t keep a man.” This is why we women love to gossip about other women because somehow we feel super uncomfortable by our peers success. So we like to defame others to feel a little less of a loser. “She’s so well established, but she’s divorced.” I hope that this post will help someone be more aware of this very ugly human trait.. I’m rebuking myself from this tendency. X Amsterdam
