For the toilets , you can bring down the shower curtain pipes or rails to a lower level so that the curtains cover the lower parts . The curtain pipes seem too high up almost at the ceiling or secondly you can fix a shower sliding glass cubicle. If you don’t get the exact size of your shower , it could be Custom made . Fiber glass could be used as well

A beautiful home you have. I personally wouldn't change the colour in the kitchen. You have lots of furniture in the house with that wood brown, so having cabinets in a similar colour would give the kitchen harmony (if that's the right word) with the rest of the house.

For the curtains to become blackout, you can consider adding a lining.

Greetings Suzy, for your shower curtain…buy another set of shower curtains and have a seamstress attach it to the bottom. It’s just a couple of straight seams. You could even buy a contrasting pattern for a custom look.

Your kids look really well taken care of. The efforts of batch cooking are paying off real good. About the art piece to hang at the landing area, if it were I would get an artist to paint a family picture. If not possible for whatever reasons I would work on a family portrait taken by a camera put on a board a really large board.

Suzy it is short because most shower curtains are not hung to close to the ceiling. If you have a sewing machine you could sew a white shower curtain to the bottom of the ones that are so pretty. It would still work perfectly.

On the sofas, the U-shaped would work so well because you have the extra space. I have an ottoman where I store my bed linen and towels. It sits at the end of bed and can be used as a little comfy bench as well because the cover is cushioned. Life saver! Other then that, I will keep stealing your ideas!😉

Hi Suzy. Lovely home. I love the transformation so far. SOLUTION FOR SHOWER CURTAINS - for fabric shower curtains you can get 3 and use one to lengthen the other 2. You can get creative and colour block. All the best as you enjoy your new home. Good paint for the cabinet will work. You may even find that a lighter colour would work excellent with your backsplash. The colour recommendations for the cushion is on point. I like th L shape that you now have, however it looks off because one couch goes behind the other. I would recommend the you try and U shape recommended to see how it looks....it may grow on you. I would not recommend getting another sofa. You and even try putting the 2 smaller where the long one is to see it that can work.

It will definitely take time for you to get the look you want with family, job, etc. Yes you should bring the couch over because ev1sitting can see each other. I feel you should have that divider from sitting room and eating area. Paint the bricks in the entry room white too.

Suzy, why don't you put artificial grass on one end for the kids to play on. It is easy to maintain as you can hoover it. You can also make your own compost for your garden by using kitchen waste. Just find a large enough bucket.

For your curtains, you can buy curtain lining, there are fabrics like Calico which make curtains/Drapes thick and will not let in a lot of light. Also when you add the curtain lining they will not fade with the sun. I hope this helps 🙂

Back agin I just had a idea for the hall photo gallery to cove the undesirable wires and electrical box u could do a light weight family art piece that u all create and have it be suspended from the ceiling lowing it down to the level u need it will cover the things u don’t want to be seen and still have the galley u will love /bathroom maybe lower the rods here in the US 🇺🇸 we don’t have shower curtains rods that high it is typically the same level as the tub shower combo I hope something will help u 👍🏾 ur entry way we would call that area a sun porch with sitting and plants with tables it will be perfect to enjoy on rainy days with a nice cup or tea/coffee ♥️♥️♥️♥️ every room is more than just a pass through space

Leave living area as is. I like the concept of space but still degrees of separation. No to the white couches. Use a shelving unit for a pantry in the kitchen which can house some of the appliances when finished using and thus keep counters clear. Try pumpkins for ground cover, maybe cassava and sweet potato and yam as well. Pygmy palms are slow growing and should look nice in the pots.

Just move the smaller couch to the entry way to the dining area to create a U. I like the paint. It matches the couches & curtains. You can play around with the color of throw pillows.You can also remove the carpet. The floor in this new house is beautiful. (My thought though) 2. Kitchen - Yeah you can repaint the cupboards to white. It'll reflect more light in the kitchen. Paint the wall in the kitchen white as well to reflect more natural light in. Please don't paint the tiles in the kitchen. I feel they're beautiful as they are. The height of the sheer in the kitchen window is OK since if it'll be longer than that, it'll get water as you do your dishes. 3. Entry way - Yeah, it needs a serious make over. You can put a big mirror, wall art with warm colors & something reading welcome. You can also put a shoe rack for visitors shoes & yours as well where your family can place their dirty shoes when you come from outside. 4. Master bedroom - Check 💯. So sorry for the curtains in the bathroom 🤭. The custom made ones will be nice. 5. Kids bedroom - Check💯 6. Laundry area - Yes you can get a good fundi to put the shelves that will work as a mini pantry 7. Kitchen garden - So far so good. Hello Suzzy, I remember you from Boma(Suswa, right?). Lovely home! I am team “no extra couch” - just re-arrange the ones you have. Please do not get rid of the planters. Plant herbs in them. The serve as potted plants which you can move around and you can use them in food, smoothies, salads etc. I have recently started making herbal teas with mine. Keeps colds etc at bay. You can get Rosemary, sage, thyme, mints, lemon verbana, chives etc. If you were in my environs(which I think you are not if you do not wear sweaters at night😂), I would have gladly propagated for you.

You can just adjust the shower curtain rails lower soo that the shower curtains can fit the shower tray well.. Plus I wouldn't advice you to change the kitchen cabinet color the wood color looks perfect though I would obviously add in more lights to boost the lighting system in the kitchen and also paint bright white color on the ceiling and the remaining wall spaces in the kitchen

I understand your stress, but it is funny, You may have to get custom made. The white in the kitchen will raise it to another level, I currently have brown cabinets and it sure feels closed in. The room with all the stuff 🤔 just keep the door closed do a bit at a time and soon there too would be cleared up. The living room chairs could be moved around don't add it will make the space crowded. Don't worry you just moved it takes a while to get things organized. I love your kitchen garden blessed hands. For the entry way, I'd create an outdoor feel. Put turf carpet (grey since the garden will already be green) then have outdoor pallet chairs and maybe large floor pillows. Nice area to sit outside but inside 😊

Something it does not have to match, it can just be to bring back a memory, to add whimsy, something unexpected. The aim is to take the space to where you have joy and peace. Now my short answer. I would get a plain curtain taking into consideration that the tiles in the bathroom are a bit busy. What do you think? I'm enjoying the transformation and whatever you do I will still love!

Love the garden. I would bring down the rods in the bathroom they are too high. Don't know if you see but if I would add fabric to lengthen the shower curtain , double fold the fabric and add new holes for hooks.

Thank you for giving us a tour of your home...I think it's unfolding well...pole pole tu, you will eventually settle down and in eventually. For the living room seats...I wouldn't add another couch. I would just rearrange what is there...move the long seat to where the two seaters are...then move the two seaters to face each other, one to occupy the side of the dining. I would also remove the carpets/rugs on the living room until the new carpet checks in. As for the shower curtain mini skirts🤣🤣🤣...you can lower the rails or tailor make long shower curtains. Don't get an extra couch your living room will be overcrowded. Reposition the middle one so that last seat can be used. I have a question for you from my heart; did you really need that carpet/rug? You mentioned you have a child with allergies. Those rugs have a tendency of causing a spike in allergies. Add color to the couches, forget the rugs and live happily every after.

Thanks Lillian! Yes, if you get carpets that are too fluffy, it really causes a spike in allergies. We don't intend to get that type. Carpets are great for kids to roll around and have fun. 👍🏾👍🏾

For the shower curtain first you need a sewing machine at home, you buy many and just cut and add yourself. I had this problem at home and I just bought two of them and them added myself. It's quite simple. It adds the length
