Finding & Picking a Marina

This video is by popular request! If you're starting your live-aboard journey you might be finding it challenging to find a marina with slips available, in your area, and/or with adequate amenities. Great info!!my son is a traveling nurse he is in a toss up between house boat and RV,he's worked quite a bit in the Carolina's Florida and were not from the coast but on a home on the eastern coast of Florida.. He's single with two dogs but trying to weigh out slip availability with most of the aminties you mention ie pool gym..alot of camp sites have these..he has plenty boat experience also the pick and move is an option..right now wife kids is not in his future so small living quarters no bother...I think living on a boat would be awesome speaking for my Self..good info to pass on to him thanks stay safe..

Good to see you back and your advice is great. We bought a 28 ft cabin express cruiser. Paris Landing Tennessee. We are closer to the land that I like but $140 a month? Worth it. We don’t live aboard.

I have a small dog and I go to work all day. As someone who is looking into marinas right now (I was gifted a houseboat, and since I am living in an expensive area moving onto the boat full time seems like a good idea.), I am wondering what you do about your dog? Do you take him everywhere with you? When you work what do do with him? I can't currently take my girl to work, although I have had jobs in the past where I could. Any info on that subject? :)

What if you are looking to build your own custom boat? I had a friend of family who converted an old barge in Pittsburgh in the 70s- before a storm blew it away and destroyed it. Thinking of converting a coal barge or something a little bigger than a normal boat (not a full size barge!) Any idea what options there are for those do inclined?

Where did you choose? Currently looking at places in Charleston SC. I have never lived aboard but I’m excited to start after the first of the year ! Any advice would be great ! :)
