Curious about the Kitsune anatomy. Tails are connected to the spine, so is there a joint that connects them all to it? Would they get in the way if you need to do number 2? How do they grow? Why is nine the typical limit? Why do Kitsunes have multiple tails?

When I was a kid, which was during the time when phones were attached to walls and computers had floppy disks, I received a Time-Life book on the supernatural called Night Creatures for my birthday. It had references to vampires, ghouls,trolls werewolves and kitsune, which I had never once heard of in my American supernatural education.
