Ant wasn't playing the greatest at the end of series 2 either. It's just that the talking heads and the fans tried to prop him up as if he was already MJ reborn and ignored that he was sucessfully shut down 2 games straight. It's an odd state of the nba. Ant himself gave credit to his team where it was due but I think the Jokic hate train derailed the reality of it to shift the narrative. Ant will likely have a great future but currently the best player in this series is Luka and Ant is going to be competing with Kyrie. The rest of the members of both teams are far below that. So while the Nuggets was an mv3 with no allstars and a rusty bench, Ant and the wolves face a very strong duo with a generally competent bench. People celebrated too soon and the wolves will have to work hard or adjust and shut down Luka and Kyrie.
