It's funny how mistakes in execution create heros that never should have had an opportunity to be a hero. The same thing happened when Philly blew the game the other night. I would say id rather be in the Knicks position at the moment. They were seconds away from a 4-1 series win. They already won a close game in Philadelphia..... and these Knicks are Nova guys so they are comfortable playing there..... and still have another home game that will have an explosive crowd if they don't get a win in Philly.

the issue with fouling is there would have been 10 seconds left. had maxey made both, which he likely would’ve, they’d have been down by 1. they would have quickly fouled with about 8 seconds on the clock. if the knicks were to split their free throws, the 76ers would have been down by 2 with 7-8 seconds to go. this would have given the sixers a chance to win the game in regulation. by not fouling, the 76ers were forced to take a 3 to keep the game alive, and the knicks were prepared for that. coaches have differing opinions on the matter, but fouling with that much time left would’ve left the sixers the opportunity to win rather than just tie. they lost so it looks like a bad decision, but had they fouled and ended up losing in regulation, it would be looked at as one of the biggest playoff mistakes ever.

@@davidjames5448even coaches have differing opinions on the matter. if they fouled, it would have given the sixers a chance to win the game in regulation. there still would have been about 10 seconds, and the sixers could have cut the lead to 1. if the knicks were to split their fts, which was possible considering how poorly they shot at the line, it would have been a 2 point game with about 7-8 seconds left. in theory, by not fouling, the worst case scenario is overtime. by fouling, they could have lost the game in regulation with that much time remaining.

Not really mentioned much, but Anunoby also missed the first of two free throws with 59 seconds left. If he'd made both, it's a three possession seven-point lead. Since he only made one, it became just a two possession lead. Yes, Hart missed a free throw late, but everything that happened after the one-minute mark of regulation is less relevant if Anunoby had just made both free throws at that crucial point.

Oubre had 3 solid games in a row. Tobi being providing his normal career averages finally, made the difference, outside of Maxey being a stud. Overall the team did well. Embiid struggled offensively, and was giving the game away with his turnovers, but his rebounding, defense, and willingness to pass was impactful. It's games like this where you need a legit #2 guy, and Maxey is that guy. Thank you Jesus for this win.
