Everybody is different but when our daughter has surgery I can’t make myself leave the hospital. Just on the awful off chance that something goes awry I have to be as physically close to her as possible. I can’t make myself leave to shower or rest. If our girl is in the hospital so am I. Much to our doctors displeasure I’m sure.

If it was my child in surgery I couldn't and wouldn't leave the hospital either. Maybe one of the parents but not both. I know I wouldn't for sure.

My guess is when they told them to go eat breakfast, they meant in the cafeteria. I am a nurse and also have a medically fragile child and I have never told a parent, nor have I ever been told during his many procedures, to leave the hospital. If there was an emergency, would you want to tell them you were at Costco or Starbucks?!

Go Beckham! The brain and body remember, even if we don't consciously. And yay for that Tylenol cocktail! Never had that when I was little and 30yrs later, I vividly remember going under. I think it is also pretty common to be upset when waking up in recovery. Even as an adult, I still wake up crying every time. Those of us that are medically complex are definitely brave for everything we endure in our young lives.

I wouldn't leave either and I certainly wouldn't post the conversation of when Rachel was talking with the nurse on the phone for the entire world to hear either. For Beckham privacy as well as for the update with sensitive information about Beckham that the nurse was was giving Rachel about Beckham. There's a law called HIPPA. I wonder if the nurse knew the conversation was going out into the world? If it was my child I would have not left the hospital if my child was in surgery. I'm praying for Beckham.

In the end of the video she asked her small dother do she want to say hi to her friends and little girl said no, she said ok you dont have to..... But she never ask her son the same.... She never consider his rights to privacy, he is crying and afraid and upset and she put camera right to his face for all the world to see it. He have rights too, he cant say no like his sister so she just dont care and put him on youtobe in all his dificult times. I will never understant why or how she can do it I am a mom too, i would never do that to my child. How she wuld feel if she is in his shouse, in pain, afraid, crying and someone put camera to her face, and there is nothing she can do to stop it.

When I first saw the link to the video before I clicked on it, I was upset honestly for Beckham. I saw, will he ever walk. Do I hope he does? Yes! Can he walk? In his gait trainer! Do I hope the surgery will help him? I have no doubt it will. It did me. Mobility, Speech, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting etc. are all important for Beckham just like everyone else. I also believe that he can accomplish these things and more as time, the right people to help not only Beckham and advocate for him, but also those people who will help educate and support the parents, his sister and others around him. Beckham knew before you left your garage that something was up. You can tell be the look on his face. I hope every around him accepts and knows how smart he truly is and how aware he is in every area of his life. Also you may want to mute the sound on the video when the nurse was giving the update so the entire world doesn't have Beckham's Personal Health Information (PHI). I could have never left the hospital regardless if it were my child. Glad daddy and was able to make Beckham smile and so glad grandpa was able to spend the first night with Beckham. I truly hope that you and Hunter will consider a support group or talking with those of us who are older and are living and I mean truly living with and through Cerebral Palsy like myself. Glad Beckham is now home recovering. Hope he getting to see his grandparents on both sides and getting lots of love and hugs. Much love to ALL of you from TN.xoxo Especially Mr. Beckham Hughes!
