Totally agree I love seeing a real perspective, one I can relate to lol always seeing perfect pristine homes/vlogs gives a expectation that your not doing a good job if your place isn’t the same but lets by honest everyone is different and has different priorities; work, kids, chores, pets, etc.

Get yourself an inexpensive plastic coated tablecloth for repotting on the floor or on a table. It is so much easier to pick up the soil and direct it on the ground outdoors. Cleans up easy, also. I find it soothing, also, to walk back and forth with a plant or watering can; kind of a plant meditation. Get some sleep and take it easy on yourself mama!!

I usually use a large trash bag and cut it open and you can reuse it. Same idea I guess. But I usually still have some mess. I sometimes have dirt flying across the room. Lol

Yes! I use a tarp. It's great because I can repot several plants at the same time, and clean up is easy.

You gotta do what you gotta do! Hahaha experienced plant parents know that roots, leaves, and variegation grows back! I walk around chopping my plants for fun because I’ve seen how beneficial it can be in the long run. In the wild, stems snap and growth dies back. We’re growing for fun in ideal conditions.. so you will actually end up with a really cool looking plant if you aren’t afraid to chop and experiment with mediums other than straight soil!

Personally I found the shift from 1 to 2 kids harder than going from 0 to 1, mostly because of what you said. Everybody needs me all at once. It feels like someone always needs something. But it definitely does get easier, and someday you’ll have more time for yourself (and your plants). You’re doing a great job!

Smart plugs are such a tiny piece of luxury lol I hated going to plug in and turn on lights, it feels like an unnecessary chore, and they just make my life so much easier. Also just bought me a green queen hoodie and it looks like it should arrive right before my birthday! 💚

Smart plugs are the best, we switched internet provider a few months back and then the timer function stopped until I reset the wifi on it. It took me way too long to set it back up again but MAN, I love not having to worry about turning my lights on and off.

Happy New Year. Please don't ever apologize at least not to this viewer. The fact that you are taking the time to even do these as often as you do is amazing. Appreciate all your videos. I think all you folks that I watch on a regular basis its not just for the plant content but its you all. It's your honesty, its your personalities. The fact that you said the baby needed me.. then I felt defeated or tired. that is so real. Not that you need my critique but in a human world guess what people have babies and husbands . People have basements that flood and plants need to be repotted cause we don't have time to get to them. Life doesn't always measure up to Better Homes and Gardens or our own expectations. I use the kasa smartplug strip for my lizards lights. Now that I have a south facing apartment I thankfully don't need grow lights but you bet I'd be immediately getting plugs for that too. I'm glad you were able to take that one daily task off your list!

I'd get other quotes for the sump pump. I am a construction engineer and a pump that I'm getting for an industrial project is only 400 bucks. If you're willing to have some visible piping you don't really to dig much and the extra costs would be associated with labor and materials for piping (provided you already have a low spot in your basement where the pump can sit). There's lots of sump pumps these days that can just be plugged in instead of being hardwired in.

Ahhh I have the breville barista express and I love it so much. I was a barista at a high end cafe and I didn't want to live without good espresso when I had to move away and leave that job. Between me and my partner we've made around 1500 drinks and its still going strong like day 1

I love my smart plugs. All my grow lights are on one. I have them set to come on at 8 am, and go off at 10 pm. Definitely a game changer for me. One less thing to remember to do as a busy mom.

About making treats - I LOVE to cook and feed people. If you aren’t popular with your neighbors yet, you will be! When you make treats, set yourself some aside and then pack the rest up! You could also leave some for the package delivery folks or the mail man, pediatrician at appointments for your littles, etc. Being a treat fairy is the best ❤️

We’ve just ordered a sump pump for our basement that floods when the water table (water in the ground) gets high. Apparently old period properties in England were designed to allow the water ingress to happen but it’s not ideal for us haha. Our basement is one room though so the sump pump was £40 from Amazon. However the ventilation system we need for the house is about £4,000 (£1,000 each unit) 🙄🙄

I just did this with mine. They rooted great. The most important thing I did was to let the cuttings sit out for 24 hours to callous over before putting them in water. I’ve seen multiple videos on KZbin where all the cuttings rotted so letting the cutting callous over will help prevent that!
