Hello lovely video thank you. I was at one point a maximalist but now I’ve downsized and keep my collection right around 45. I can keep up with watering and maintenance and appreciate growth individually while keeping up with my household chores and family responsibilities. So its a good number for me. I no longer use grow lights heat mats or humidifiers or cabinets. If it doesn’t grow in my natural home environment its just not for me anymore. And i also wont spend more than like $20-$30 on a plant either. Just getting more frugal and intentional about how i live what i buy i guess.

Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing 💚 That is a really good point about keeping up with plant care and generally everything else. Also, choosing the right plants for your home, so you don't need the extra devices to keep them healthy. While I will still get new varieties (of plants I know I can keep in my home), I am being more mindful of what I buy this year too (no more plants for the sake of plants!). 😊

Hello! Hope everyone is having some happy holidays! This was a fun video! I recently bought a neon pothos, and thought "Oh I need more lime green!" Nice to know they will be an easy find! I also have 2 asparagus ferns with full 5 foot cascades. They were cheep and easy to grow but definitely place them against a wall. They look fluffy and friendly but they have tiny "teeth" that will grab clothes. They don't draw blood but will make you say ouch if they tag you!

Wow that's really impressive, I bet those asparagus ferns look amazing! Good tips, don't want to get caught by them 😱 Ahead of the trend with the neon pothos, I'm sure there will be lots of things with similar colours being pushed in 2024. Hope you are enjoying the festive season too and happy new year (for in a few days!) 💚😊

The only reason "less [plants] is more" is because you dont really love the hobby, or you are unable to maintain their care. People usually downsize because plants are just decorations to them. You or I seem more in the camp of treating plants as living things to be enjoyed. When I no longer have the space or light to keep plants is when I have enough; I have at least 60 species right now. Of course, I use grow lights but as we discussed, normal LED are just as good .Never tried moisture meters, I just dont understand the logic because I prefer to just water the correct way lol. For decore, I recommend a Yard Butler or other brand type of standing hanger. Piling many hanging plants in a single vertical space provedes an instant jungle experience, and is easier than growing trees to the same volume.

Thanks for sharing 😊 that is a very good point. It is perhaps the difference between simply having greenery as decor as opposed to being a plant hobbyist. Very good tip for hanging plants. I tend to use hangers that can go over doors or the edges of shelves as opposed to those you hang from hooks or bars fixed to the wall / ceiling. Maybe a future home needs beams so I can use those! Interesting, I have a moisture metre and I tried it but I just don't use. The finger test and generally checking plants works well, I have too many to check and wait for moisture readings 😂 Wishing you a happy new year (in a few days!) 🤗

I think I went too far in the opposite direction after some feedback. Thank you for your feedback though. I am naturally a very fast speaker, and a few people said I spoke too fast, so I was consciously trying to slow myself down - maybe too much! I'll try to find the right balance and try not to be too conscious of it so it's more natural 👍
