Houses? Hospitals? Stuck here AGAIN?

In this week's van life vlog - we're back! It's been a few weeks since Malin's Midnight ambulance pickup where she was taken in to the hospital, and we've had a week off from vlogging to catch our breaths a bit. That said, during our 'week off' we've had birthdays, hospital visits and cancer scans... so refreshed we are not!
This week we're chatting about what happens next? We are planning to take our van life adventures back down to southern Europe, including Spain and Portugal for the winter, however we're at risk of being stuck here in Sweden, again. Winter van life for the second year in a row?

I didn’t realize that crocheting is a thing you like to do! I am an avid crocheter I started doing it in 2018 when I had a spinal injury and taught myself lots of different things to do because I didn’t leave my home from 2018 to 2021. It makes me feel good to make something that someone loves. ❤ glad you do something that keeps your mind busy and your heart full.

Oh yeah I love it! I didn’t do anything like this before I got cancer but being locked in a bed for so long I had to start doing something creative to not lose my mind! And now I’m completely in love with crocheting 😅 you’re so right, it is a nice feeling making lots of different things that other people might use in the future! 🧡

@@malinandtom I’m not good with making animals or anything like that. I make blankets, hats, bandanas, and dream catchers but I have found that making pumpkins is super easy. I was held up in bed for months not being able to walk so I can understand the boredom of just lying there. I don’t know how many books I read and shows or movies until I was just so frustrated with it all. I finally found crocheting and diamond painting. Have you ever done diamond paintings? I think it would be something else you might enjoy. I like to frame mine. I am building a bedroom just to hang all my diamond paintings in it one day. 😂 I also taught myself how to sew and now make memory bears for people who have lost someone. I make them out of a piece or two of clothing from the loved one and do it absolutely free. If you interested in doing something of that sort I would be more than happy to send you a pattern?

I love watching your family - you all are adorable. Malin, my mom had Colon Cancer like 25 years ago, and afterwards was in pain like you. She was diagnosed with something called malignant adhesions. Basically, her body produced tons more adhesions (scar tissue) than the average person. I don't know if that is what is going on with you, but at least thought I would mention it, in case it could help you. She did have to have some removed later on as she needed another surgery. Best wishes to you for answers and for a pain free future.

My blood boils went I see how people are not getting the right treatment through the health systems. An oestiopath is a great idea. I'd like to know how that goes. I went to a physiotherapist for my IBS urgency symptoms and had huge relief. I couldn't get that through our public health system. Good idea of getting a house for the winter. Stress has a huge impact on pain and a calming environment away from the cold will help.

(This is from an American aged 75 -- who traveled most of Europe and the US in younger years. Do it now, while you're young, as long as you feel healthy enough.)

I’m intrigued to hear more about the osteopath! I didn’t know such a doctor existed, but now that I do I’m going to ask for a referral and see what they say! No matter what happens in life, there are people who are ignorant!! My father worked road construction so no winter work. We hitched up the trailer and travelled for 3 or 4 months every year. People were really negative about it but we figured that they were jealous that we had this wonderful chance to travel. And trust me, we travelled on a shoestring. But we loved it and that’s all that mattered!!

You don't need a time line. Go after you find out your results. Is there a way you can give yourself pain shots? I know that you get this pain after you leave. Maybe it is something internally and they can fix it. I'm praying for your family.❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

I believe your scans are going to be amazing and you're going to be able to travel. I can tell you if you end up with adhesions and have to have them removed. I literally just had the surgery. I'm actually still in the hospital as I write this. My surgery was five hours long. The pain's been unreal. They've had to remove adhesions from my bladder, my kidneys, my liver, my pancreas and all over. We're trying to manage my pain. I'm hoping that eventually the pain will be manage and I will get to go home. I'm hoping that this is the cure of me not having to go in and out of the hospital like you are. I pray that you're just goes away without any surgery.

Unfortunately the few spoilit for everyone else. We have a lovely local walk by stream but people go sit there and leave their rubbish behind. Im sure they don't go there because it looks like a rubbish dump but because it's a beauty spot. They only have to take it back to the car park where there is a bin to put it in. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Yay! Your back! So so good to see you both. I am appalled at how mean people can be. Evil is in the air as so many Content Creators are getting so many mean comments on their Channel. Try not to let them get to you ok ! I know it’s got to be hard, that’s why I decided to not start a channel as Iam so kind hearted and there is no way I could take all the mean comments and I know there would be some as all get them. People are so miserable,they want to try to make other miserable as well. You both handle it with grace. So glad your parents came Tom to spend time with y’all during Malin and Charlie’s birthdays. Last Friday my Edinburgh hospital started playing games like what Malin and Tom have experienced with theirs. For me, it was an appointment made in October and which not a single person bothered to tell me about. I got an automated phonecall saying that I had an appointment in like 2 days' time and I already had other things planned because, of course, they hadn't bothered to tell me about the appointment. So all sorts of worry about 'why an appointment now? I have one in December, why the rush? What do they know that they haven't said, apart from not saying about the appointment?' All those little games that Malin and Tom have had way too many times. Now they won't even admit that they didn't say beans about the appointment and have decided 'hey, you have a December appointment, that one will do, you don't need one in October, since you didn't come to it.' Gah!!! Hospital bureacratic mismanagement. Hope you will have seen the back of those!

@@malinandtom I've used eMail to send 'patient's experience' comments. I'm so fed up that I don't want them to say one word more about it. I'll go to the December appointment as planned but no one better give me any mouth. My cancer was only Level 1 so not as serious as Malin's but at the same time - they are supposed to providing health care! Clearly bureaucracy ruins much. Hopefully Malin and Tom won't have any more of these games. Thanks for support.
