yes, ventilation is very important. or too much manure gives out of too much ammonia which might cause chicken disease of the respiratory system, thus result in highly chicken death rate.

The chickens may not be in cages but the barns are way overcrowded and each chicken does not have enough space, which causes fighting as you can see in the video...Chickens love to be outside in the sun, fresh air and peck in the grass...The barn has none of those things...:-(

Christ, this is how chickens just live....in a crowded shed, living on drips of water?!? If this was children, we'd all scream bloody murder.
