Houston City Council agrees city wasn't properly equipped for Hurricane Beryl: 'Houston's TIRED'

More than a week after Hurricane Beryl, city leaders have had it with the days-long power outages. Criticism was aimed at CenterPoint, but most on the city council conceded local government should have been better equipped. Home owners should be responsible for pruning the trees around their property to keep the branches from getting into the power lines. The city should be responsible for upkeeping the clearing of vegetation on vacant lots. The finger pointing and political posturing must stop. At the end of the day we are all in this thing together. Houston you all need a company like COMED down there. We folks here in Chicago, after Monday night's Derecho and EF-0 and EF-1 tornadoes thankfully had power back on, within a couple of hours, if that. Tree debris removal is taking longer, but that is expected given the powerful force of the winds that came through here. There needs to be an independent investigation into Center Point's protocols and procedures when it comes to these significant weather events. I am sure there are some lobbying and kickbacks taking place. Continuing to pray for you all down there.
