Rappers of this era all had their individual style of rapping and sound. Man...miss the individuality of rappers. You heard a new track on the radio, and recognized the artist by the sound of their voice. It was distinctive.

That's why I don't listen to any rap music that's come out over the past 11 years. From about 2010 onward, I noticed the vibe shifting in a direction I didn't like, the trend towards trap beats and all rap starting to sound exactly the same. Now there's no variation whatsoever. It's all cookie cutter stuff. Even the way they dress now is fcking stupid with the skinny jeans. You would've gotten the sh!t kicked out of you 20 years ago if you walked around dressing like they do now. Think it was Kanye West and Lil Wayne that started the whole skinny jeans look in rap around 2008 and most people just blindly followed suit over the course of the 2010's. Respect to everyone out here still rocking a loose fit.

For a certain ethnicity. But for a majority of people, sweet melody and musical/instrumental (guitar, piano, drums, etc) will always empower emotion and will be favored tenfold than RnB. This is considered noise for infants, children and seniors.

It's a shame that the hip hop community doesn't embrace their brothers and sisters in their times of need. Instead, it's easier to turn their backs, especially when there is an obvious mental health issue. I guess it's true, haters gonna hate.

Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! This was my FAVORITE song in middle school! I can’t believe I forgot about this gem!! Like wtf I feel ashamed of myself! I played the hell outta this song man… Houston probably was a one hit wonder but this song is still getting played in 2023! I would dance to this until my shirt was drenched in sweat.. and major s/o to Nate Dogg… dude enhanced ANY song he was on man… so got damn smooth! Continue to rest easy Nate!

Alongside with I-20 even though I don't get why they cut 1/2 of his verse of the bars in the album version of the song because of controversial sexual lyrical content perhaps? But however I still think it was killer & the song was a banger as I was a teenager back when this joint came out.

Super late but chingy definitely had everything to be the top dog during the early 2000s. Shame he got fucked over

Being a teenager in the early 00s was the best!!! Low rise jeans, weird stringy glitter sequin tops! And big ass belt buckles, weighing 130lbs lol
