Am I the only one who noticed how vague he is? What is the current school board doing that's not "laser-focused" on student learning? Which campuses are the TEA specifically concerned about? He doesn't say. I'd be very skeptical about this takeover if I were an HISD parent.

This about ideology, not learning. The following is occurring in Texas and Florida. After the Nazis came to power in 1933, they quickly passed new laws to make public education reflect and teach their nationalist and racial ideologies. Jewish teachers were fired from their posts, and other teachers were encouraged to join the National Socialist Teachers League; by 1936, over 97% of teachers were members. Nazi leaders also created new curricula and textbooks to be used throughout the country.

Yep. It’s why I wouldn’t have taught in hpisd bc the “parents” wouldn’t have liked that I taught history but also current events, talked about our lives, going to therapy, jobs, real history that many racist whites don’t want taught, etc etc.

This action is a message to certain groups of people and one group in particular. The same message to the same group has been sent in Jackson, Mississippi. When Trump attempted to turn the post office upside down and came close, he also sent the same message to the same group and to one group in particular. For some strange reason this same group always seems to never read the message. If they did they would know it is in their interest to start uniting and working together for their social, political, and economic progress. As to the state taking over HISD what a joke. It doesn't give a damn about the kids nor the circumstances surrounding their existence. But then what is one to expect. It's Texas.

IMO, SOME of the elected officials are taking what's on paper , *saying this sthi will work*, forcing their ideas on teachers and districts. They should more concerned about teaching LIFE skills i.e. Balancing a bank book, teaching woodshop, and home economics =teaching children to cook. These are only a few things that may improve the systems. Taking the children to listen to the symphony orchestras as a field trip( those that want to go). That may make this generation calm down from aggressive behavior, I don't know but again these are my suggestions. Also IMO SOME administrators make things harder than they should, anyway ya'll have a wonderful day and weekend. Be safe and be blessed.

Public schools work when the society around them is invested in ensuring they work. Private schools are typically nice and have a lot of liquid cash on hand but typically at the price of being detrimentally insular and low key yet another promoter of exclusionary mindsets.

@@CJ-ko6my to an extent. children often spent more waking hours with teachers and friends than with parents. and as they get older they naturally want to rebel against parents, which means the outside influence is even greater. This. 100% I work in public education and school districts are dragged down by violent, ignorant, and disruptive students that they will not expel because they would lose federal money. A lot of aggressively ignorant people will abuse the new board. Oh, and a hint: increase teacher’s salary by at least 50%. Then you can attract more teachers and choose ones which are more successful at teaching! You know, using capitalism system ways, when paying more increases supply. Because no trustees are not coming into classes to teach.

How about the capitalist idea of EARNING a raise! Only union commies think everybody deserves a raise regardless of ability. Teachers probably should be earning more. However they should also have a probationary period, and no tenure. Along with progress reports every year ending at least.

What does this mean? That trans kids get protected? Affirmative action? Allowing medical staff to give puberty blockers? Or is this going to be a good thing, like parents having more transparency between the school and the kids?
@MisterMichaelVReyes

This ensures all schools in the Houston independent school district, are giving equal resources to teach ALL students. Ex, Low income schools usually don't have the resources needed to teach all kids equally. This will make sure they get what they need, as much as a school in a rich area.

Trans kids will NOT be protected; definitely no affirmative action, white rednecks first, as it should be; medical staff will not give puberty blockers, not even in your imagination like they do now. Bring back slavery; 16 hour workdays for everyone; no voting for slaves and women; all dresses below knees, no pants, no education and no life outside home for women. Sounds like a Christian paradise, and I am not even close to being done. Make America Great AGAIN. 👍👍👍👍

🤥 ~ This guy is a liar. Several interviews of his or he said things that are clear he’s lying. But in this video I’m first going to pick on how he said this is not the fault of teachers or students. The school board is not really that important if they stay out of your way, as long as teachers and students do what they are supposed to. So he’s lied about the simplest things. So it is almost certainly the teachers and/or the students who are the problem. Maybe the school board could do even more to go the extra mile, But our history is full of times when the school board literally did nothing except for manage the finances. It was principles and teachers doing the work, and students listening to teachers or getting in trouble. But he knows it’ll sound bad if he blames the tteachers or the students, so instead he lies. That’s not such a big deal in this one situation, but his other lies that he has continued is where the problem is.
@iMatti00
@iMatti00 8 ай бұрын
P.S. and notice how he says the current superintendent is great, and he’s a fan of his. But he’s going to fire him anyway. Because The current superintendent is very good, but the current superintendent will not go along with her plan to gut public education in a very unique way while trying to act like you’re trying to save it. That’s my guess. And this POS is a complete liar when he says the board managers are just a different form of local control. That’s BS. Because even if literally 100% of the parents or residents of Houston wanted to vote out the new superintendent or the new board of managers, they could not. And if one of the managers who supervises this process where to vote against what this commissioner right here wants, he can just remove them immediately. This is all BS. I would be much more sympathetic to this if they gave some way that the parents could remove the board and/or the superintend it. Even if it was a very high threshold, there should be someway. But there’s not. And why should anybody be surprised when Republicans believe they should be able to overturn election when they don’t like the results.
