Put a link swivel on the cage feeder. You can quickly change to other weight feeders or setups.

Feeder fishing is something we do in the UK all the time. The trick is to have your groundbait dampened so that it will squeeze into a ball but then will return to crumb again easily when you rub the ball in your palms. Needs to break up and disperse from the feeder easily, so you need to have it slightly damp and on the dry side only, not over-wetted. We put a few grains of corn in the middle of the feeder, blocked at each end with groundbait, just gently squeezed with finger and thumb. It will make all the difference with your feeder fishing. We call those types of feeders open ended feeders. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Yeah, I'm hugely impressed with European anglers. Learning as much as I can about that style of fishing.

WILD LIFE I can tell you all you want to know. I fish competitively in the UK (match fishing we call it here when you fish for money and trophies). Not just how to fish with feeders but also float (bobber) fishing with rods and reels and also float fishing with what we call poles, long lengths of hollow carbon fibre sections fitted together to reach distances of about 16 metres (yards). You don’t need reels with these. We use lengths of elastic through these. The line, float and hook are attached to the elastic, and just lowered in the water at the selected distance up to 16 metres. When the float dips under, you gently lift the pole to hook the fish and the elastic absorbs the lunges of the fish until they’ve been tired / played out long enough to be netted. England probably leads the way with these types of fishing methods, we’ve been World Champions quite a few times in recent years using these methods. We also do lure and fly fishing over here but less so than you American and Canadian anglers. Fishing with baits though is our thing. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Very popular method in Europe i believe, only tried it a hand full of times. As a man of habbit i always use either in line, or clip on leads. Shouod really use cages and other groundbait based leads! Great video as always!! ♥️

Feeder rig we use them over here in the uk 50 years. Try a flat bed method feeder we have obviously cage feeders blockend feeders for maggots paste feeders banjo method feeders too.groundbait for cage feeders crumbed bread flavour if you want .I've been feeder fishing for 42 yrs in the uk I recommend buying a feeder rod I don't know if you can buy them in the USA or have even heard of them they come 2 or 3 rod tips sensitive medium heavy or 1oz 2oz 3oz depending on what company make them.Honestly our feeder rods are the best since we invented feeder fishing but have a look at Angling Direct in the uk.Www.AnglingDirect.co.uk you will be surprised and amazed.

Fun urban fishing video! As I understand it, most carp are now considered a “naturalized” species as they have found a niche and aren’t effecting native species negatively. Be sure you don’t eat fish from most Houston area bayous as they regularly tested, and are known to be contaminated with PCBs and or Dioxin.
@silviodaniel224 жыл бұрын
That grass carp can grow very big. Try to catch one at 20-22kg at"cage feeder" for sure you have. I recomand to use special bait for this species. (boilies of belachan, clover pellets, corn&maggots). Use textil/braid line.

I went there fishing in the afternoon couple days ago. caught about 10 catfish and one bigger carp, no grass carp. The bank is tilt, even stairs(where I fishing) are not really level. edge between deep and shallow will cut braid line(15lb), line broken twice when caught fish. I might try again in the morning to understand fishing condition and test rig(which I think best for there)and try to catch the fish in the shallow(to find out if they are mullet or not) , then will not go fishing there again.

I have my best success using a Gamakatsu size 6. I used a number 2 for another video and ended up missing the majority of my hook sets. It was a 3 fish video and it should have been an 8 fish video. I think smaller is the way to go.

What size hook did you use i have yet to land a carp
@wildlifefishingshow6 жыл бұрын
That was a size 6 octopus hook by Owner, fished on 6lb. flurocarbon. My best advice to land yourself that first carp is 1. fish a canal, not a lake, 2. the evening bite is best, 3. use small hooks and light line, 4. use a very good ground bait to draw them in, 5. treat carp fishing more like hunting than the tradditional concept of recreational fishing (in terms of stealth and approach). Good luck!
@ubreakitirepairit35695 жыл бұрын
rgv gmc I was going to say size 6 to. After hours of research a while back, that seems like it’s the go to size for most people.

No, sadly (which is why I'm not great at it, lol). Unfortunately, Carp fishing as a whole hasn't caught on in the U.S outside of specific fishing communities in Texas and up North, near Michigan (there are a few others, but not many).
