Well, in this game, yes. The previous two starts no. He just didn't read his receivers. The Jaguars use a lot of choice routes, and he continually chose the opposite of what the receivers chose. @RishiLankala what are you talking about? He's had four games with less than five tackles. He's only reached 10 tackles twice. He has two sacks and a couple of forced fumbles. Meanwhile in three less games Blake cashman has recorded three sacks and managed double-digit tackles 3 times. If Aziz had his same stat line but was keeping pocket quarterbacks from getting away, I'd feel better about it but he's not doing that. He's not going to be any better than Blake against mobile qbs. He's not even replicating what Christian Harris did last year from that standpoint. I assure you the Texans expected more. He's the sixth highest paid linebacker in the league to give you essentially what Blake cashman would give you at much less overall money and way less guaranteed LOL

He keeps a stable presence in the Defense that's missing when he's not there. Not to mention he is a top tier tackler. Cashman is a very good player, but Azeez is a better fit for what the team needs.

Watching the replays elsewhere Al-Shaair squared up the hit before the sliding motion, that's fine, but he follows down with his elbow and hits him perfectly in the head. He adjusted the hit to accommodate for Lawrence being lower due to initiating the slide. Instead of pulling out of the hit, he adjusted to make sure he hit him. It's very obvious and other players seem capable of avoiding this.

As a Jags fan I have to be honest and most people aren't going to like this but its Trevor who is at fault not Azeez and the reason that this is so is because Trevor should have the self awareness that he is a target so in order to avoid cheap shots/dirty hits is to not make himself vulnerable to them in the first place. Before people push back at my comment ask yourself this question, why doesn't this happen to a player like Lamar Jackson who runs more than any QB in the league and could it be that he has self awareness and conducts himself in a manner that mitigates or even eliminates the possibility of a cheap or dirty hit against him?

Luckily, I saw Dr. Brian Sutter video explaining what happened when Lawrence took the cheap dirty shot to the head. If I hadn't, I would have never known about the injury. Jaguars gave the Texans a run for their money at the end. Exciting game. 🇨🇦
