I am from the Netherlands and a fan of the Houston Texans (don't ask why). I visited the city for 2 weeks in octobre 2017 to see them play. Houston is AMAZING and a really underrated tourist destination. Time flew by. Thanks for this video Robert, great work as always.

Omgosh Mr. Robert you just solved a mystery for me. I wondered why they moved the Mock up Explorer to Houston. I never knew they put the Atlantis there. I got down to see that thing a few times. I happened to be there for the dedication of it in 1993 ( I won a trip from NASA at the same time ) so I felt a closeness to it. I was huffy when they moved it. LOL. So nice to know they replaced it with an actual one. Now I can go to NASA again without pouting lol.

Thank you, Robert. I am surprised myself that you manage to keep ME watching your videos of big cities and their downtowns. Usually these places are boring, but you - and your music - make watching very interesting! Besides, I am very impressed by Houston's Metro and underground walks, let alone the space center. Excellent idea. Greetings from Bavaria, Germany.

A Houston resident here, you did a pretty good video, covering some of the top tourist destinations this city has to offer, considering Houston is commonly known more as an industrial place, covering the medical field, energy, oil, and space, mainly. Felicidades socio. Bendiciones.

Very cool Robert. My first assembly model was within months after the model kit for the Lunar Lander was released in the 1960's. lol Turned out all right for about an 8 year old kid with less than two hands. Traveled this 2nd weekend of Oct to the 55th National October Apple Harvest Festival at Biglerville, PA from west of Pittsburgh, PA. The PA JC's started it and run it every year. All kinds of Apple products of course mostly made "after you order". Indian Pow Wow, antique cars, wagon rides provided for parking and camping 4 to 5 miles away unless like my wife a JC Senator we camped for free on location.

We’ve lived in Houston since 1984 because of work but always thought we would move back to California after retirement but our grandkids are here so we’re staying. Bugs, heat, humidity and all. I don’t think you mentioned that it’s probably the flattest city in America and barely above sea level so flooding is a given.

Man! San Jacinto is flat as a pancake like Florida. Excellent place to ride around though. In a folding recumbent trike like the HP Velotechnik Scorpion PLUS. You could zip around all over an RV park and beyond in one of those. AND film everything effortlessly!

Rumble & Flex. Wooden roller coasters are special and appealing for that strong character and performance feature. The sound of the cars rolling around RESONATE with far more appeal than metal roller coasters do. Japan builds modern wooden roller coasters for that reason.

@@NguyenGiaoUsA Thank you for your opinion on what TR missed while filming this section of his epic road trip. Yes, I do agree that he may Not have gone to many of the free attractions in this area, But what you must keep in mind, is that he is on a time frame during his travels. If he would take the time to visit every possible attraction in every area he visited, He would be away from his wife and family for much more time then the 3 months he allotted doing this journey. BTW, My Outstanding statement was in relation to his editing, story telling, and Photography skills,, IMHO..

When are you going to the end of US in Brownsville TX? So many things to see in south Texas. King Ranch, South Padre Island, The Gladys Porter Zoo, cross the border for fantastic lunch. Citrus groves, 3 great World famous Birding centers. Then head along the border to Laredo and on to Del Rio. You like wine? They grow it. A huge lake shared with Mexico is Amistad National Recreation Area.

The cultural aspects of Houston are legend, but I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I have lived in California, Alaska, and El Paso, Texas where mountains came up out of the desert to give the eye something to hang on to. Florida and the flat parts of Texas would tear out my hilly psyche. And I am now of the age where humidity is a no go entirely.
@krissto225 жыл бұрын
Robert, we have a truck like yours and my husband cannot find any clip on mirrors but noticed yours. Where did you get yours from?, if you don’t mind. Thank you in advance. Appreciate your help.
I occasionally go to MD, Anderson hospital, so we stay in Houston. Good for you, you love cities. I hate them, and Houston is one of the more busy. I kind of hate it. We were staying at the hotel, and there was a CVS maybe 7 miles away. We had to take like 3 toll roads to get there. There are so many tolls in houston, that if you get a rental car, it always has the plates that let you pay the toll later. From the center of the city, I think we drove to that town, where there is a huge park, with a butterfly environment and an aquarium that we went to. From the center of the city, we drove in the car 45 minutes, and we still weren't out of the city area... It was city like and busy, with 3 or 4 lane highways the whole time! I like nature myself, so that wasn't fun for me.
