Regional heavy and urban light rail connectivity to the CBD, UPTOWN, and the TMC DISTRICT to major satellite suburban nodes like Clear Lake/ NASA, Katy/ Brookshire, Conroe/ Huntsville, THE WOODLANDS and Sugar Land /Rosenberg with these airports are a crucial component to realizing these great aspirations. Why is this rail connectivity piece so difficult for Houston to realize?

Quaint little airport system, y’all have down there in Houston ….😂 Love from a real airport and the leading International gateway to Texas….DFW!!! Spaceport, 😂😂😂😂 Going to get Elon to launch the Starship from there….😂😂😂.

You do realize that IAH has significantly more international O/D than DFW, right? The only reason DFW has more passenger traffic is geography/connectivity. The Houston metro is more diverse than the metroplex and has always been the international gateway to TX.

@ At one time perhaps, but DFW (the ‘Metroplex’ not the airport) has passed y’all up, years ago with regards to diversity. The Latino, Desi (Indian sub-continent) East Asian numbers have since zoomed past Houston and a building African diaspora is beginning to rival Houston’s lead. Houston and its leaders talk a good game but they rarely make good on their lofty aspirations. Compare Houston’s toy “light rail” to the behemoth of DART, which btw, connects both DFW and DAL to downtown Dallas. All Houston can muster are outdoor shelters with hapless travelers waiting for a lumbering Metro bus in 95-degree heat and humidity. No, Dallas now the king of international transportation to and from Texas, we are just waiting for the ‘coronation’. Give us time, we will expand the Trinity River to handle cargo vessels from the Gulf, bypassing the Houston Ship Ditch.

@@cameraman655 There is so much misinformation in this post, I don't know where to start. First off, where is your data? Per the 2020 Census, Hispanics accounted for 37% of Greater Houston's population, compared to 29% in DFW. Moreover, DFW's Hispanic population is dominantly of Mexican origin, whereas the Hispanic population in Houston is roughly half Mexican, half Central and South American. DFW has always had a larger Indian population, but Houston metro has more SE and East Asians, with sizable Viet and Chinese communities. Houston has the second largest Vietnamese population in the US, outside of San Jose. Houston has large and fairly equal Hispanic/Latino (37%), Black (20%), White (34%), and Asian (8%) sub populations, including a non-white plurality, which is rare among major metros in the US. DFW for context - Hispanic/Latino (29%), Black (16%), White (42%), and Asian (8%). 24% of Houston metro is foreign-born, compared to 18% in DFW. DART connects to the airports but the system is way too sprawling to be put to good use. Case in point - in 2023 Houston Metro light rail had ~54% more ridership than DART, despite having a less extensive network. To be frank, neither city is well positioned for a rail network given the car-centric cultures and urban sprawl. I'm not sure why I'm even wasting my time with you. The fact that you spend the time to shitpost a promotional video tells me all I need to know about your insecurity. @@JasonBrooks-b6tit’s no utility in trying to appeal to the humanity of a Dallasite. They have none whatsoever ever. There is absolutely nothing organic or sanguine about their personalities or their city. It’s simply an antiseptic , unwelcoming and narcissistic town that could use a healthy dose of tolerance. So sad!

@@JasonBrooks-b6tOh yeah, looks like DFW is going to score Royal Jordanian next year…what was that about Houston being the international gateway to Texas ?
