Riot police clashed with landless people in a bid to prevent the construction of squatter homes overlooking a luxury South African yachting harbour that opens out into the Indian Ocean. The landless are demanding their right to a share in the land of their birth.

People are making shanti towns and staying illegal, but thats not the problem, who gives any government the right to claim any piece of ground, mountain or farms, it is not theirs to begin with !

Sadly it seems that instead of encouraging white South Africa to be a key part of the new "Rainbow Nation", successive ANC govts since Mandela have instead gone down the route of Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmitive Action, thus making white South Africans feel like 2nd class citizens. This grouping ,that still has huge wealth (and skills vital for this relatively new democracy), have either retreated into gated communities or just left the country. Most white farmers have even agreed to the need for land reform but in recent years, and culminating in Ramophosa's 2018 SONA, the ANC have instead opted for Expropriating land without compensation, thus caving to the extreme Left within the party and the EFF. This state of affairs just cannot continue if SA wishes to progress as an African powerhouse. Even though i dont agree with everything RW Johnson says, he's correct in that SA can either be a great industrial/agricultural power or it can have an ANC govt in charge....it cannot have both!

Presumably decision makers are well aware of these proposals? So what prevents change? How can positive change be brought about despite the barriers? Are there any countries in the world where ideas like this are being implemented successfully?
