When VIRGO - GO WILD RHYTHM TRACK first dropped, you couldn't get away from it for like 7 to 8 years AFTER it dropped, EVERY: backyard party, basement/house party, block party, in the park jams, dudes carrying ghetto blasters and every olds and or caddy with a $1,000 stereo system .... for a solid 7 to 8 years, SOLID.

I have two vinyl copies of this record and it came out as a bootleg around the end 1987. By that time I was living a few blocks from the Zanzibar in newark, NJ and it was heavily being played there and all over the east coast. Great tune and classic!

I would love to track down an original vinyl copy of this but I could never afford it if one surfaced for sale. I never thought they existed. Can I ask what record label it was on? Or anything that could help identify it. The vinyl I ripped this from (there's a link in the description to discogs) came out around 2004-2006. I never thought they existed on vinyl before this but you and a few others have said they got it in 1987. A very very rare record indeed.

I never thought I would ever hear this again. I heard it on a tape that made off of a Tony Humphries dance party on 98.7 Kiss-FM back in the early 1990s. Thank you so much for this post-now if it was only on CD! Peace.

This song used to be played in NYC Clubs. even this song was from reel to reel tape back in 1987 or 88.
@houzbizness3033 жыл бұрын
I have a feeling it was probably played from reel to reel back then in about 87/88. The Go Wild Rhythm track came out in 1985/86 and the Pop Mechanics track appeared on vinyl in '87 but this bootleg didn't appear on vinyl until sometime after 2000. Unless there were some acetates or something floating around back then?

@@houzbizness303 it looks like the T.J. Records release was late 80s, compare the yellow label to the Rock Mo records release from 1989 with Mary Jane Girls - All Night Long on it. The common thread seems to be Danny Krivit, don't know if he's ever been asked about this track.

This was played extensively at "Tracks" in NYC by David Depino in 1992 if I recall correctly the year. It was PLAYED. It was awesome. Very hypnotic. I use to have it on 12" and it was a bootleg I bought at "Rock & Soul" record store on 7th Avenue and 30-something Street.

Great great record. From what I've gathered was a Tony H. Mega mix he either did tape edits of or did live at Zanz. And the 12" is Danny K - Recreating said edit / mix.

Someone should add a history of this track. Very famous but no one knows origins - below it seems Humphries (who officially LOVED hot for you) started and maybe Danny K finished but would love more details - Thanks for posting!!!

Virgo was out around 83-84 first than this version came out. I'm hot for you like the remix. Virgo was definitely being played in the clubs and everywhere else. I still remember the color of the record label. It was purple. I was just learning how to dj around that time. 84-85 That was a big thing around that time and a lot of basement and house parties😂

Those that think the Soho "Hot Music" re-mix is superior have no clue...the Soho version is so one dimensional, that's why it was only used as a "break beat" in the clubs that I danced in...and not much else - it was still a good groove but it ain't this!!
