I think pronunciation in old Hebrew could be a little different. The Ayin letter could be pronounced as Ayn in Arabic. It is not just regular "A" sound. Modern Hebrew, influenced by European languages, lost its original semitic phonology

@@Menehune3461 Wrong! Who are we to change the name of God?! Just because the Greek language couldn't pronounce Joshua/Yeshua?! We don't do that with Muhammad, Abraham, or Buddha...or even Coke!

@@ikiruyamamoto1050 you do realize God has many names... 15 names come to mind. And while there isn't an exact number on how many names between both Old Testament and New Testament . Sources have counted anywhere between 100 and 150 names referring to God. what's funny is that you bring up Coke and there are dozens of names for Coke. ( why you brought cocaine up with God) in the same conversation is interesting to me. Also bringing up other false gods. But i digress God changed Abraham's name. Abraham was not his birth given name. Buddha also has five different names. In Islam faith, Mohammed has many names as well. In fact there is cited to be 200 and over means entitles he has. Everything I just stated are backed up by facts. As for the names of God that he has. Those are names that we are told to call him when we talk with him. It's not changing His name.

@@ikiruyamamoto1050 I think it would be wise for you to take an introduction to linguist class. The names are not changed. And it definitely doesn't change who the person is.

I searched for how do u pronounce yeshua which brought me here thanks so much for sharing . It’s 4:52am 20/11/2022 in Sydney , I’m gonna have my last exam in university in 29hours, I love the sound and the power of that word Yeshua so much , that powerful, my name is Joshua as well, my mum gave me this name in both English and Chinese when I was born ,Ye’shûa , this is the first time I hear this word in Hebrew , I don’t know if it actually pronounces like that but it is crazy the power it provides , this is insane , I can feel how it’s touching my heart , I know it might be weird how I’m being emotional. I study actuarial studies I’m a math guy I have always been a rationalistic for my entire life. Why not I pray, dear heavenly Father , I wanna say thank you , thank you for everything uv gifted to me wisdom, strength, love, kindness, appearance, the last and the most important that I’m so lucky that I can understand and believe u . Itself is a super nature. I will have my last exam on Monday morning, I pray that u can give me patience, wisdom, calm to revise the last day and as well as do my best in the exam, I pray for my younger brother’s anxiety and depression, pray that he can come back to you to embrace your truth , love , salvation . I love you Jesus, thank you for everything . Sincerely , in Jesus’ name amen.

@@CheddarChess-ft7hj Arabic is a distinct semitic language like Hebrew. It's not that Hebrew is the "original" and Arabic is "copied". Both languages are distinct semitic languages. Now when names of one language are adopted by other language, some changes take place. Like, Eliyah, being adopted in Arabic, became Ilyas. Now Yahweh is the personal name of God in the Judeo-Christian theology. But the Hebrew word for God is Eloh. And the Arabic word for God is Allah. That's it.

Its not only about the pronunciations but it's about the translations. Etymology is a key factor. Essentially the first rule in translation is that you don't translate names and proper nouns. Secondly Jesus is not Yashua its Yahusha. Yhe suffix shua means deliverer which is applicable to all the prophets but the suffix sha means salvation and ultimately the root of that is Yasha.

@user-ei5zo7rn2f modern hebrew, ie 40% Yiddish 40% hebrew and aramaic, 5% arabic, 5% english, 5% soanish snd 5% russian. Modern Hebrew pronounces words with a Yiddish accent. Best example is the name Yeshua which is how they said it in Yiddish. In ancient hebrew it had a glottal stop at the end called Ayin. Modern Israel's canf pronounce this letter becsusr they still use Yiddish pronunciation so they say yeshua instead of Yeshu'. But the ye sound is also characteristically Yiddish. Jesus would have said his own name as iishuع . If you want to use Yiddish to pronounce biblical names go ahead but don't claim its ancient hebrew

@@yiannisroubos8846 Another lie. You mean the letter ע?😂 We can speak all the Gutteral letters. Why do you call Jesus, Jesus and not Yeshua? We don't call him like that, not because we can't but because we don't believe in him as a saviour or a prophet... Modern Hebrew is 99% Biblical Hebrew. The other percentage are Aramaic(which is an ancient Hebrew dialect) and mixture of the languages you said but Yiddish has nothing to do with Hebrew at all actually... I could list you individual Yiddish words that entered Hebrew but that is only a couple of words literally...

@@yiannisroubos8846 Jews began dropping the gutteral letters already in ancient times, as it says in the Talmud, Eruvin 53b: "The Gemara returns to the people of Galilee, who are not precise in their speech. What is the meaning of this? The Gemara cites examples: As it was taught in a baraita that there was a certain person from the Galilee who would walk and say to people: Who has amar" who has amar" They said to him: Foolish Galilean, what do you mean? Galileans did not pronounce the guttural letters properly, so it was unclear whether he sought a donkey [hamor] to ride, or wine [hamar] to drink, wool [amar] to wear, or a lamb [imar] to slaughter..."
