Takes a special type of woman to survive in the mechanic industry. Most woman want comfortable jobs. Working on cars alot of times is not comfortable. I hate working on my car but get it done. It's dirty, unpleasant and I often bust something, a knuckle, a shin, something gets cut or hit lmfao. And that's just working in my garage, you start working at a shop and most the guys are just guys, fowl mouth, busting balls having a good time. Woman don't want a good time 👀👀😂😂😂 some fit in that environment, but most don't, can't be sensitive in a shop.

This is an OUTSTANDING video of how to diagnose and repair the internal coolant leaks that so many of these 3.8 litre GM v-6's have. I especially like his attention to detail and cleanliness. His referring to the manual for tightening sequence and torques are very professional... HE did everything right here, from identifying the problem(s), to using the proper tools & methods, to using gloves while working on this car... A+ on this video Amigo...

Blessing to you and all who share in the joy of Jesus Christ and your inspired videos. I was guided by an invisible angel to your videos. I carefully competed the intake manifold replacement project, and appreciated seeing and hearing your outstanding pointers... including the possible no-start condition, the broken plastic elbow pieces left in the manifold/ports, checking plugs and head gasket! It took me 3 days to get here! Finally, today I connected the battery cable, sat in the car, and turned the key on (no start position) to prime the fuel rail a few times. I said a few prayers seeking blessing from above, then hit start...... "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye", The car fired right up! "Glory to God in the Highest" and Thanks Be Unto You Too "oldskool funk"!

Finding this very helpful. Got a 03 LeSabre a family member has that is experiencing lifter racket after it went into the dealer for an intake leak code. Idiots making work. Came back running worse//making an almost diesel-like racket. They had also broke the MAP sensors & never replaced it. Finally getting around to fixing the thing. New MAP took care of SOME of the tapping but it's still there. Finding this video informative in getting into the motor w/o having to remove excess bits.

You're awesome, man! I have a 2001 Pontiac Firebird. Engine threw a rod & punched a hole in engine block. Mechanic put in a new engine I bought from O'Reilly. Was getting water or something in the oil going all the way up the dipstick with the milkshake appearance. Mechanic accused me of adding water to the engine from the water hose. I know, stupid, right? He left me hi & dri & told O'Reilly I was adding water so they wouldn't warranty the engine. Took it to another mechanic and he said he could get me another engine but didn't have the money, so I gave him $2,200 cash to buy the engine. He went out of business and stole my $2,200. Now my Firebird is sitting in my driveway with no engine in the car and I paid 2 mechanics to put an engine in. I've not been able to drive my firebird in 2 years. Its really disgusting that people take advantage of me because I'm nice. I had to file criminal charges against him and then sue him in civil court also. 2 year nightmare that doesn't end.

Sir I want to thank you for posting this video it helped diagnose 1 of the problems I was having with my 3800 engine unfortunately it turned out not to be the actual problem. I own a 92 Buick park avenue with a series 1 3800 car has 235000 miles on & has been driven everyday and taken very good care of oil changes and what not with no major problems until now. It started as a light miss then got worse and worse. Now it will not run for long and sounds exactly like the one in the video that had the bad intake gasket. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and can usually find problems but not this one. The first major problem was the cam magnet on the cam gear. Replaced it and timing' chain no change. This car has been down for almost a year. I've replaced plugs wires ignition module, literally every single sensor, fuel filter&pump ( turned out it wasn't it and put other pump back in ) all fresh top end gaskets. Catalytic converter, swapped out fuel rail with one off a running car. No change. Considered letting go of it but it has tremendous sentimental value want it fixed. Could the camshaft lobes be worn or yet the lifters not opening the valves Al the way ?? It surges up and down and stalls When I had the intake off I didn't check the lifters left them in place. All pushrods were in good shape none bent HELP!! if I could get it opinion would be great. Thanks Hunter Riley

Man I dread this but it has too be done. I see that I'm going too have too buy some more gaskets, I have some on the way but I am planning too get it done soon! Just replace the ICM, it blew a month ago, I started with the crank shaft sensor and that wasn't it and then the cam shaft sensor and that wasn't it! But at least those are new now and don't have too worry about those anymore! I got the ICM today and the car cranked right away, Thanking God for that! I think God is making a mechanic out of me! I do have a little leak of oil on the hood latch side of the of the engine and the OBD2 said a vacuum leak, That is the only thing I haven't changed yet! Hey I'm learning right? You have a good video and it was very informational Thank you for your time and explaining how too do this David. By changing the valve cover gaskets, you eliminated the chance of an Engine fire! ♨️..........Another superb Tutorial! 😎

Excellent video. I have a one owner 1998 Buick LeSabre I bought with only 49,000 miles, but had a similar issue. It just shut completely off one day and would not restart. Cost me nearly $700 to fix. The mechanic said a coolant/intake gasket was bad and let water into the cylinders. Somehow I don't believe him. There was no sign of any work being done. Dust still on the engine, etc. compared to all the work you did on this video. I think it may have been just the fuel system.

They've been repairing and rebuilding cars for over 30 years. I can tell you it is not a GM issue. Intake manifold gaskets on the lower and upper intake manifold or singular I.M. is an issue shared by all manufacturers. I have replaced intake manifold gaskets on Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler/Eagle, Ford/Mercury/Lincoln, Chev/Pontiac/Buick/Olds/GMC/Caddy equally. I've also done equal amounts on Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti and Toyota/Lexus as well. I've also done VW/Audi too. BMW's you just throw in the garbage when they need to be repaired. 😉 J/K. There is no bias for engine issues. Every manufacturer has them.
