16 was peak. People love to say 18 was the downfall but forget how bad 17 really was. All the bugs, patches, loading, deleted players etc. it was the beginning of the end.

the park/ city has always been horrible. do people really like logging into a basketball VIDEO GAME and waiting for next? i get that it wants to be realistic and its supposedly a basketball simulator, but cmon. why cant they just do matchmaking so you get into a park game right away like it used to be on PS3? then the city is 100% worse. like do you guys really like running around an empty city just to play games, or buy shit for your player? like maybe if traversal was fun then okay, but its not at all. your character runs slow and clunky and even if you equipped faster modes of transportation like a skateboard for example its still clunky and not fun at all to use. all that running around a dumb city just to buy a pair of shoes for your guy when you should just buy it through the menus. then dont get me started on the damn story and how the city factors into it. again, running around from place to place slow and clunky just to talk to an npc and watch a shitty cutscene with the worst acting possible. the city literally does nothing for the player other than waste our damn time. if 2K wants to do a hub world then make it fun. theres nothing fun about it and its just there to annoy you and keep you from doing what you actually bought the game for, which is to play some fucking basketball.
