Sir, as you explained about Semiconductor energy band, you told that energy band gap for each material will remain constant and wavelength of light is fixed so only energy band gap will decide the colour (for bulk semiconductors). But I think that this case is only possible if the excitation energy provided to each semiconductor is same. I mean if more energy is provided to the electrons than most of the electrons will cover the energy gap i.e. reach the conduction band, a different colour will be observed (vice versa is also true). Hence colour of semiconductor is also dependent on amount of excitation energy. Please solve my query...
