In this video I explained the working of 4 stroke petrol engine.
4 stroke IC engine is an internal combustion engine who completes 4 separate strokes of piston with 2 revolution of crankshaft. Which is, 1. Suction 2. Compression 3. Power 4. Exhaust
1. Suction stroke - In this stroke the intake valve opens and piston moves top dead center to bottom dead center and fresh air fuel mixture enters into the cylinder.
2. Compression stroke - In this stroke both the inlet and exhaust valves are closed and piston moves bottom dead center to top dead center. In this time the air fuel mixture have been compressed.
3.Power stroke - Just before piston reaching in top dead center, the spark plug emits a spark and ignites the compressed air fuel mixture. In time of combustion a pressure wave generated and pushes to the piston to bottom dead center.
4. Exhaust stroke - In this stroke the exhaust valve opens and piston moves bottom dead center to top dead center and the burnt gases goes to atmosphere.
This process will continuesly repeated.
