Of course life style influences aging, but some people are lucky in the inherited gene pool and age better than others. My dad was a smoker. He had the deep facial wrinkles that life long smokers get. Although he was 2 yrs younger than my mom, at the end of his life, Dad looked a decade older than Mom, who was a non smoker. I have been told I am lucky to not have a lot of wrinkles at my age. Maybe some of it is genetic and just luck. However, I think it is probably due more to lifestyle than genetics. I never smoked or sunbathed, and wasn't a drinker or drug user, all of which are terrible for the skin. Some people have the wisdom to do their research in searching for a competent plastic surgeon who will use a "light touch" in doing plastic surgery on their patients. I don't know what Diane Lane's situation is, but apparently she has the wisdom to "age gracefully" whether that means staying away from most "enhancements" and plastic surgery, or just relying on a lucky gene pool to help her age gracefully.

If done (like not being on your 12th procedure) right, cosmetic surgery can be good. Some of them lost what made them unique, by listening way too much to the studios and idiots that think plastic surgery fixes you. Andy McDowell and Alicia Silverstone are a good example. Looks like minimal work, and being comfortable with aging made them perfect. Brigitte Nielsen is about to cross that line. Jennifer Grey made a mistake. Of course, quite a few of them HAD to get nose jobs to repair their Coke noses…

A lot of these women appear untouched by plastic surgery. Time marches on. Andie McDowell’s nose is unchanged. The ones that look the worst are mostly those who have had work done. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all be as beautiful as we were when young. No amount of makeup can hide Father Time.

Agree! I'm quite a bit heavier than I was when I was younger. And at that time, I watched every single crumb I put in my mouth, to the point of ED. I'm in recovery from alcohol, been sober four years now. I see people either around town or on my Facebook that tell me "Oh you haven't aged!" It's like, Baby, did you see what two pregnancies with my cherished kids did to my body? Lol I will admit that once I got Sober, it's like I aged backwards. I'm going to celebrate my 47th trip around the sun in less than a week. I'm still big, but have lost over a hundred pounds in the last few years. I'm taking better care of myself than I ever have. I'm proud to be a wife, a mom, and a woman who is ushering in her Golden Years with strength, intelligence, and kindness! 😊💖💖💯
