Awesome video

...I had to watch each segment(s) of the video at least over 50 times to fully understand the mechanism. But great illustration!! I absolutely admire this gun, however I must admit that some other firearms like the Glock is ingeniously much more simpler and easier to understand(less moving parts). The Beretta not only has more moving parts, but more parts moving simultaneously per shot(Ergo, the hammer vs striker fire argument etc.) But because of how complicated and stunning it looks, I now understand more on it's basis and how the mechanics work on most pistols. Especially seeing how sophisticated that a Beretta is, in comparison to most handguns.

This is beautiful. I've had mine mostly stripped down to install the LTT Trigger Job In A Bag. It's surprisingly easy to do, even with all the parts. However, I've not seen a simple way to visualize how everything works together.

I wish it showed the locking lug and how it works against the slide... but it kind of does. It just never shows the lug part of the slide as solid, so you kind of have to imagine that there is a cut out on the slide there for the lug to move up and down and lock/unlock the slide and barrel together. It did an excellent job showing the trigger, sear and hammer operation though.

I know this was a long time ago... but I have been stuck using google images and youtube for the most part. For some guns though (like the Glocks, 1911's, Beretta 92's and other popular guns, there are 3d filed like (stl, dwg, sldprt files) online that you can use to get a very good look at the parts and how they work. The "gun disassembly 2" program is an amazing program if you don't need the exact dimensions, but want to know how they work.

If you run it in .25 speed, you can clearly see how the locking mechanism works.
@herbderbler15852 жыл бұрын
That's why I came here. I knew it was different than your typical Browning tilting barrel mechanism used by most auto handguns these days. My initial guess was that the barrel rotated like a rifle bolt, but that was incorrect. Good to see a detailed breakdown and know for sure.

Amazing video. I want to tell you about my gun problem. When back the slide the hammer is secured behind, but when I release the slide stop the hammer runs forward too?? If I get to have a cartridge in the chamber, it will shoot!!!!!!! How can i solve this problem. Thanks

I’m so confused on how this isn’t considered recoil operated as opposed to blowback. It doesn’t look like the slide and barrel are locked in battery.
@Fudmottin5 жыл бұрын
Who is referring to it as blowback? It is most definitely recoil operated.
@TheHairyGhost5 жыл бұрын
Fudmottin It is marketed as a short recoil, delayed blowback operated system. I don’t actually remember this comment though. 🤷🏼♂️
@rodrigoruffa74605 жыл бұрын
Slide and barrel are locked by the pivoting link under the barrel. Both begin moving backwards until the pin behind this piece hits the frame, it forces that link to pivot downwards and the two lugs that were inserted into the slide are disengaged.
