It took me forever to learn this stuff because every book I had on CPU's and diagrams and images of cpu architectures I'd seen, always completely LEAVE OUT how important the CU is. It's literally *the single most* important part of the CPU, the "brains" and what allows everything to work. Glad there's more info out there on it.

The best explanation I came across so far, I watched this video two weeks ago when I studying the CPU but forgot to bookmark it. Today I searched KZbin tirelessly just for this video. There is none like it, thank you for the wonderful explanation. Your video helped me to understand all the other operations of the CPU.

How is the code received by the IR physically Decoded? The binary model of logic operations is often illustrated by the flipping of on off gates or switches, but in those models, physical hands are flipping those switches to perform those logical operations. What "hand" in the CU is "flipping the switch" to translate that binary information received by the IR into physical instruction that creates working change in the data path via control signals? How is this actually working? Excellent video by the way!

Can you please tell me when the instruction in the instruction register is to add REGISTER 1 AND REGISTER 2 who loads the data(I mean the numbers to be added) from main memory to the registers in register bank?

thanks for work. a qustion, politely: in assembly codes, should the destination be on the left and the source on the right? ex: "load R1, R2" I think R2 is the source and R1 is the dest. is not it? Greetings from TURKEY.

I have question, what will happen when the PC will increase to the last address in the memory? Does it automatically go back to the first address if there is no other jump instruction? How is that resolved, please answer if you know And of course thanks to author for posting this great videos
@m0st4fabeder4 жыл бұрын
When a program ends executing, in the last address there would be an OPCode to make the Control Unit stop fetching data from the RAM, and wait until another program is there.
