Fred, you're my son's namesake. Please keep up the good work 👏. I followed your story when the chiefs evicted you from Brong Ahafo Region. I pray you'll be even more successful in Suhum. God bless you and keep being your humble self. You're a big inspiration for many young men like you 👍.

What if I told you that I have built Petros Farms and managed all day-to-day operations without ever setting foot on site? Our biggest challenge was conducting Zoom meetings with poor local network, which we resolved by installing Starlink.

Yes, I watched a US-based Ugandan woman explaining how she does just that, managing her farm from abroad, holding zoom meetings with the farm workers & adopting a business model by encouraging them to own a share of the goats too when then reproduce. It promotes self-help, commitment & dedication to the business bcos they know they are working towards earning not only in cash but in kind as well (a percentage of the products)

Hi Fred, how much does an acre of land costs in Suhum. Just got this idea of being your neighbor and creating an industry of goats in the vicinity.
@FarmingInAfricaOfficial6 ай бұрын
It varies. But ranges between 20,000 to 100,000

Quick question: Do you have a title and deed issued by the government of Ghana to this land, or is it purchased or leased informally from local chiefs or friends? Having a government title to your property will obviate the issue you had at your former farm, where the local chief declared you could no longer run a goat farm.
@christibark95119 ай бұрын
I guess NOT ALL chiefs act like that. This time, the chief is supportive. Fred has a video of the meeting with this forward-looking chief. Land in Ghana is not controlled by the State unless it was earmarked at independence, as state-owned by the Min of Agric research stations, university etc. That is if there are any left now!!

My daily work and the distance won't allow me to be at the farm all the time however I am determined to make something out of it.However I am.aware that probably things won't work as if I am there on a full time basis.More so that my farm manager ad I call him is also new to me.I am. Just hoping things will be better.
@FarmingInAfricaOfficial9 ай бұрын
Yes that’s good. If you have a good farm manager, things should be able to work out

Boy, that is the dedication & commitment I believe in. How many caretakers will make that sacrifice & be that dedicated to the vision that I have Fred This is why, being an absentee farm owner vs a on-site farm owner can be debatable. Which farm manager would sacrifice the comfort of their home to come & sleep in the middle of the African forest? That's commitment & dedication, man

Honestly, starting it all from scratch needs will power and focus. May God give you the strength & willpower to soldier on. You need good mentoring & supportive fans to gear you on.
