1975 york shipley 2500 gallon i used to operate on #2 fuel oil then on natural gas to heat 300 thousand sq ft of commercial space. It was a challenge keeping the many steam traps functioning.

Boilers last for decades if taken care of. If not Power Mechanical Inc. can refurbish them to a like new condition!

I helped service a pair of cleaver Brooks scotch marine boilers today one was 1960 one was 1966

Could a scotch marine boiler be adapted to a smaller scale, say made to work with a residential woodstove to heat radiant flooring within homes?

This design is the premise of many boiler designs. So yes they can be very small scale for much lower applications. Typically residential boiler designs are not as robust in their design to keep cost somewhat steady across the board. Hope this helps.
