That straight elbow up the middle is a devastating shot and just brutal. I hate making “blows” illegal so I’m not saying that, I just wish it didn’t cut the opponent almost every time it lands. Imagine if that great fight was stopped because of that cut in the first round? It is a vicious shot and I would not want it illegal. Just wish it didn’t cut so bad, lol. Awesome fight and video! I’m not sure if it’s the highlight selection making a bias . But man that adjustment by Superlek made a huge difference! In round 1 he’s constantly overthrowing past his base with his elbows. Then rounds 2 and 3 he’s able to mix in knees and the elbows that didn’t work in round 1!

Great fight between 2 legends. Since Superlek's size and strength was a factor, worth mentioning he missed weight. (I know it's not as simple as missed weight = strength advantage since a bad weight cut can leave you weaker or give you less time to rehydrate. But still, something to be aware of)

I really didn't believe that should have gone to Superlek. It was awful close though but Rodtang landed a lot more significant strikes throughout all three rounds. I wouldn't even call that a knockdown in the 2nd it was more of a push down from the forward momentum of Superlek.

Superlek landed way more significant strikes. Both elbows and punches score poorly, KD was 10-8, the 1st rounf was the only round Rodtang possibly won. Superlek landing KD in the 2nd and over all dominated both 2 and 3 it wasn’t even close.

Idk he just took two huge knees so I would suspect he was going down from that even though the elbow didn't land flush. I would suspect that over a slip, or maybe unsteady because of it. People really underestimate knees. Have your girl just lightly tap you with a knee on your lowest rib and you'll see what I mean lol But could be a slip. Either way it was counted as a knockdown so that made it urgent for Rodtang!
