Ron Robertson-Swann's 'Vault' has been part of Melbourne since 1980 and continues to cause conversation. Jess Perkins tells Vault's story in this episode of Arty Facts.

Thanks, my memory still call this sculpture the "Yellow Peril." Lived just outside of Melbourne all my life and seen this here Was pretty young 40 years ago, but recall a lot of news on it.

Very enjoyable! There's an art piece at a bus station near me which is chronically unloved and underfunded, but the details make me want to go appreciate it again with new perspectives.

I personally hate it and pretty much all "modern" or whatever the term they're using now art. It's without meaning while trying to hide that by asking people to interpret it for them. It's architectural "cold reading." It's without context. It doesn't matter if it's in Melbourne square or a park or New York or a scrap pile. It's just a pile of steel with a bit of obnoxious paint.
