Most hockey pucks are made in Czechoslovakia, or, since the breakup, Slovakia. Ones made in Canada, like in this video, are far less common, at least in the United States. I never even saw a made-in-Canada puck until I asked a Canadian chick to send me a Canadian Tire-labeled one, along with a couple Canadian Tire dollars.

When I was home visiting my parents for the holidays I was rummaging through the basement for stuff and found a milk crate of old pucks stashed away and forgotten. A lot of them had logos of hockey brands that haven't existed since the 1980s/90s, many of which said "made is Czechoslovakia" on the sides!

He's pretty much spot on, the formula is hardly different, pucks are just slightly softer and less resilient in the long run, but they make for a softer and quieter engine rumble/feel in the car.

Carbon black is a pigment. The same stuff they use in tires. Without it in tires or hockey pucks, they would be the color of natural or synthetic rubber. I work at a place that manufactures tires. I know this stuff.

Can't believe not a single person mentioned that one of the other main ingredients is Spocks ear wax which helps make the Vulcanized rubber. I think you can hammer a sharp nail right thru the center of a puck and after you pull the nail out you won't be able to find that hole.
