its like 1am for me right now and thank you so much for making this video. I've been going down a huge rabbit hole of studying, starting from power factors to 3phase to slips and then this. its not even that I don't get it, its that its so incredibly hard to put anything together (for me at least) so thanks for making simple videos like this.

Excellent video, thanks for taking the time and sharing your knowledge. Just to help me understand a bit more, the relative motion in the rotor is up (CCW) because the stators magnetic field is going down (CW) and that’s the same as the rotor moving up (CCW) though the field to get the induced current in the rotor? And you use the generator hand rule on this motor because it is an induction motor. The motor hand rule would be used if this were a dc motor or maybe a synchronous motor with permanent magnets in the rotor? Hope that makes sense the way I worded it. Saw the comment about which hand depends on whether or not conventional flow or electron flow is used. That really helped me a lot since other videos seemed to contradict one another but now I know otherwise.

so if i put the magnets closer together, further apart, or closer to / further from the stator, which of these increases torque?
@waynefilkins83943 жыл бұрын
also more magnets, less magnets, wider / narrower magnets etc.

Whichever one of those would increase the strength of magnetic field

@@ZackHartle idk how to test it without gluing the magnets in, then removing them and putting them in other ways, 3d printing various motors housings, buying several magnets of different sizes, etc.

@@waynefilkins8394 Fair enough. One thing to remember though, is that there isn't actually any magnets inside a motor. It's all interacting magnetics fields from conductors that have current flowing through them.

why the rotor flux lag the rotor current in induction motor?

Right hand generator Left hand motor

Depends if you're doing electron flow or conventional flow for current. For electron flow (- to +): Left hand generator and right hand motor. For Conventional (+ to -): Right hand generator and left hand motor
