Pro tip. You can climb some of the shorter trees with longer and bigger branches. You just need a running start before you jump. Just watch for the collision with some of the branches.

It’s a shame that the overall population for the game is 60% smilodon the rest wolf and horse, barely anyone plays bison (as far as I’ve seen since release)

I hate herbivore players, huge herd of bisons, they lose a member and even though there's a bubble to protect the predator and its prey and they can't attack while spooked they stayed around to try and kill you once you left the bubble... God i hate them, the devs need to keep making things to prevent herbs from kosing

@kayemmanims depends on the server , i usually go to a server and before spawning i check population,if there's not enough herbs, i join another server, if that one has a better ratio of herbs and carnis i stay there, because that means i'll be able to find a pride and also hunt as easily, plus if i wanna be a herb i'll have enough people to group with

@foreverbeep1339 i'm sorry what does me hating the way herb players have to do with me needing them to hunt? Precisely because i need them for my own survival i hate the way they play, and yes, sabers kos too, and i don't like that either but at least every kill is food for us or even for other players if the kosers leave the body, herbivores kosing rather than fleeing for their own survival and just leaving the pinned member of the herd to defend itself doesn't do anything for the game, and yeah, obviously there's a pride of 5 members, that's how it's supposed to be, 5 is the group limit for sabers 😂

@ herbivores in the wild kill predators to diminish the population and risk, so as annoying as it is in game, it’s almost as natural as predators hunting

11:24 thank you!!! by studying your hunting specifically this i learnt that its quite easy to bring down bison by just getting neck bite and spamming instead of actually trying to be good at it, using this i brought down 2 bison and a horse, in less than an hour

Fun fact if u guys even care: when u go into shop from the main menu and look at the game pass skins all the way over you can find the scientific name for each animal. Like Ænocyon dirus or smilidon fatalis Californicus and Bos bison antiquus! Pretty cool in my option as someone who loves science 🙃

I remember having this weird idea, and this reminds me of it what if you take 3 games with some of the best wildlife ever made and put them together. Red dead redemption 2 the witcher 3 and farcry primal like imagine Johnny the godling is running through the swamps dodging gators from red dead but they're lazy easily dodged but out of nowhere out of the muck downers scaring johnny to the mud but out of nowhere a jaguar pounces on one of the driwners backs scaring the other off straight out of primal and other scenarios like that I think it would gave made for and interesting game environment.

I would love if they added Homotherium into this game. It would just be a smaller, faster Smilodon that does slightly more damage but it would have to be a gamepass creature or something to make it balanced with the former saber-tooth.

Homotherium is a cursorial predator, more akin to Aenocyon in niche, it had a sloping back and semi retractable claws for chasing down prey to exhaustion in packs. Horses, bovids, and camels were taken but they had a particular prey preference for proboscideans like mammoths and mastodon. And their serrated teeth were particularly useful for cutting into the flesh of those giants. Smilodon and homotherium should be able to coexist together just fine, as smilodon is a woodland ambush predator of deer, tapir, and wood bison, while homotherium is a pursuit predator that prefers open plains as I already said, finding a way for it to niche partition with Aenocyon and gray wolves would be the real challenge.

a question like how do you get ancient bison i know you would need to spot a predetor that is stalking you but it says aim with the crosshair, what do they mean whith that?

*there are 3 species of smilodon: fatalis (medium sized) gracilis (smallest) and populator (the biggest of the 3) this one in particular is a fatalis which is why it doesn't look as big!*
