Trav, completely unrelated, but, just suggesting a video; how about an update on your Lefevre goalie gear? Their gear looks awesome and their history of manufactoring gear could at times be less known. Personally, I wore Brian Heaton gear back in the early 2000's. He made the switch to Louisville TPS and it was a huge success back in the day with the Exhale model. All the best with your Europe journey and feel free to ask Steve the goalie coach where the video is of him being called Mc Kitchen vs. his proper pronunciation. Lol.

You don't tape the area where you hold your stick? I use an Ultrasonic and it has some textured grip so I don't really see a need. I also like to be able to throw a fast poke check and I found that the tape by the shaft hinders that. However, I see a lot of high level goalies taping that area where the shaft and the paddle meet. Some good tips bud but dude.. About the 6:00 mark with that buttendz grip you look too familiar with that motion 😂 Got any tips for pregame prep? Especially getting in that mental zone.. I always played better when the game was meaningful with some feistiness but now playing 'fun hockey' I sometimes have issues getting in that mental zone, and don't wanna play like I used too (Hextall style 😂) cause I'll piss people off and don't wanna lose ice times.. Sometimes it's like a player who doesn't get in the game until the first big hit but for me as a goalie I got nobody to hit 😂

Buttendz is overpriced for being $30. Just switched back to a composite stick(Warrior Ritual CR3 26" Quick pattern), as I had been using wood sticks(Brian's, Warrior) before that. Had a $8 Tacki-Mac(discontinued) that I put on my Warrior for the butt end. Slipped it on easy using hair spray. Just a tip that I find useful, I put 2 strips of hockey tape on the under-side of the stick blade(1" away from the blade toe to 1" past the blade heel, rough estimate). I then do 2 rounds of hockey tape(starting close to the toe to slightly over the heel). Last I use some Pro Guard Stick Butter(stick wax) and rub it along on the under-side of stick blade. I then thumb it down to create a nice coat. Why? Water build-up and friction are a big contributor to wearing down your under-side of your stick blade. I'm a longtime Beer Leaguer, on a tight goalie equipment budget and I like to get the most out of my equipment. If you don't mind the extra weight on your stick(I like it because it gives me more balance in how I position my stick and I emphasize not giving a easy shooting option with the five-hole), then the 2 forms of layers(2 strips of hockey tape and stick wax) prolong my stick blade to last a lot longer and for me to not have to re-tape my stick that often.

I'll disagree on TackiMac over buttendz but I will say, I like the tape under the tape idea. I may have to do that

@@trav4oilers I didn't really say the Tacki-Mac was better. I'm more traditional in how I want the top of the shaft grip and butt end, so the Tacki-Mac suits me fine. Once that wears down or for some reason I don't like it anymore, then I will have to go with something else like the Buttendz, which does look better because its more rounded. Disappointed that Buttendz doesn't have the Sentry in a black color(I like to go black color on the blade, top grip and butt end).
