Hi Soph and Indy! Another great video! I have the same problem with shoes slipping off during car transfers so wear running shoes (irony) when dealing with vehicle transfers because I don't want to scrape my feet. They might not be functional but I like the symmetry and don't want to run the risk of infection. Soph, I think your transfers are great. I loved Martha's little whimper from the back seat. I also loved your comment about how it wouldn't matter how much time you spent at the gym because some muscles are not going to improve because of your SCI. It used to drive me nuts when someone trying to be helpful would say "it will get better with more excercise"! Sure, sure, we get more proficient over time, but a SCI is a SCI, period! You are both awesome!❤❤

Try doing this with a sliding board (banana board) to get into a SuKzuki Swift. My brother only has limited use of one arm so it became impossible for him to do it himself. Now I lift and place him into the car if we are going anywhere, there was no other way. The worst thing is we don't get ACC because his paralysis is due to a brain tumor not an accident and apparently he must have gotten it deliberately.

When I transfer into the passenger side (which is 99% of the time) I transfer differently, and my shoes don’t come off during that transfer! So yes, definitely should consider getting better shoes, but it’s not a huge prob at the moment 😋

I had to Google but quadripilgic means paralysed in four limbs. Or perhaps Google is wrong, but quad does mean 4. I thought paralysed from waist down was paraplegic? I have partial paralysis of my left hand due to a teenage brain injury.
