If you already got the problem solved with tha tuning then ok. and if you are getting strings make sure therye what other people get.

You may also tune to the chord of a key you are playing in in order to correct do the dissonance within equal temperament tuning. doing that will make that key sound much nicer, however if there is a key change then the notes outside the original key will be more dissonant because of the same reason

Search "James Taylor tuning". This may help, or sometimes just flattening the B a little bit will work.

A “B” note is actually naturally a little off tune that’s why some people bend it while playing a d chord!

Do it the opposite direction. First of all, the high E string is easier to tune than the low E. The lower the string the harder it is to tune. I think at least some of it has to do with the number of overtones created. Second, when you decend from high to low, each string sounds like it is on its way to resolving a chord. It's how I'm able to tune by ear. I'll tune the high E with an aid and then the rest I can do by ear with very high accuracy when descending. Third, I'll more often tune both the high E and the Low E with an aid. That way when I resolve at the end I can guage if I screwed up and need to start from the top. Also you learn how to hear the same note two octaves apart. (But I stand by the fact that the low E is harder to lock down)

oh my god... if you dont have over like 500 dollars to spend on a guitar (at least) dont get anything but a yamaha fg820/30 (me personally the 20 for the price and the martin tone its got) everything else that martin taylour and guild make under 500 wouldn't even compare to a good fg820 with a bone nut saddle and bridge pin replacement (like 30 bucks ish maybe 50) its honestly just got a tone that i consider better and preferable to to some guitars over 10 times its price, theres a time and place for ultra cheap guitars (like if you just need some wood to literally get a bonfire goin) but there is no justification to not spend a little more and get waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more value then a fake wood plastic garbage guitar you cant stand. yes... they may be "good" for 150... but thats becouse its competition in the 150 market is just slightly worse... please dont put yourself through a ultra cheap guitar!!! get a affordable! theres a huge difference! (sorry for the drama...)
