Is there a way for me to submit for roles that are on showfax or do I have to wait until the role is actually open on actors access?

There is not, this video was deliberately misleading on this point - he says 'you might even be able to submit' - which means nothing, you can not submit.

The role has to be available on Actors Access, or you have a relationship with someone on the project and you could send them your footage.

It's not at all misleading if you have relationships with industry folks.
