Adinkra symbols are visual symbols with historical and philosophical significance originally printed on cloth which royals wore to important ceremonies. Saturated with meaning, these symbols have come to symbolize the richness of Akan culture and were used to communicate deep truth and important messages. Our ancestors never wrote in books. They wrote on clay tablets. It’s was these tablets that the Europeans came for in the name of archeological research and from what is written on, they translated it into what we call the Bible now.
