I was in a taxi in Ghana sometime ago, we were about four persons in the taxi, a Ghanaian, a Chinese man, me and the taxi driver, we got to a police checkpoint, our tax was stopped and I was asked to come down, they asked for my passport, I showed them, they asked for my plane tickets too, I showed them, then they started asking me questions on what I was doing in Ghana, meanwhile the Chinese man was still in the cab, I am a Nigerian. They didn’t bother the Chinese man, but they interrogated me as if I was a criminal. After everything, I was let go. I felt very embarrassed and angry. A fellow African was asking me questions, while a Chinese man was sitted in the taxi. Just two days ago, six Nigerians were killed in South Africa, and 90% of the comment from South Africans online were all praising the killers, asking them to kill more Nigerians. The problem is that there will never be one Africa, because we hate ourselves to the core. I hate it when I see people comment online “we are all brothers and sister” there is nothing like that in Africa. No love, no unity, no brotherhood.

That sucks. All this happens because the idea of nationhood isn't a native concept. The geopolitical borders we have today aren't our creation. Once upon a time, we were mere tribes and kingdoms fighting for supremacy, only trading with neighboring tribes and kingdoms out of necessity and not brotherhood. We still have these issues within individual countries (tribalism). You could say we're still stack in the past, somewhat. We're learning to navigate this nationhood concept but the fear of being overtaken by other tribes (nationalities) keeps getting in the way. This manifests in the xenophobic attacks in South Africa. The Yoruba has no time to fight the Igbos. You tend to forget what kind of country Nigeria is. Every ethnic group is scared of losing out to another in a country where the law does not apply. Until there's justice, the fear of what the other might do if given the opportunity would never fade away. Moreover, in Nigeria, when a group wants to rip off the other, they want the law to work. When they have power, they damn the law. Dishonesty is what I see in this accusation of the Yoruba since Tinubu became President. And guess what? Slandering the Yoruba would not make them friendlier to you. You'd only create more hardliners, especially when support those who claim ownership of their ancestral home, saying they "created" it, it's "no man's land", or other foolish expressions. The Yoruba doesn't "carry your matter for head". So any of you may say what they want. We're who we are!

For example if Nigeria got better universities in Africa all South African students will want to go the end up Nigerian students won't get a space. Same if University of Cape Town is the best in Africa all other children from other countries will come to UCT end up SA kids left outside. It's just that WE as Africans we don't have respect to each other. To begin with, AU must sign an MOU with all member states so that influential personalities like Dangote will be granted a new category of passport, which may be called a Business Passport to allow them travel to the length and breath of the African continent without a visa. Free movement for all Africans within the continent may not be feasible because of some bottlenecks, including intention to remain for economic reasons. The rationale behind granting most Europeans visa free passage has to do with the economic benefits that come with their presence in those African countries. Same cannot be said for most Africans moving to other African countries. However, there must be exceptions to the rule in the case of Dangote and the likes...

We are our own hindrance to our progress indeed. When another African can easily bring a cement factory to your country, and He has to be hassled in movement, ... we have to re-evaluate our priorities!

What a shame, it's so sad really that Dangote needs a visa to traveled around Africa but the White French Guy doesn't need a Visa to travel around Africa. He has got right to travel around Africa than our African Millionaire..my heart cry 😢😭😭. Africa na we de do ourselves. BP ne we de do ourselves. May GOD Have Mercy Upon All Of Us.. What s Shame..
