Sometimes acceptance goes both ways. Some Diasporans want to be accepted by Africans while also retaining all our Western ways. If we really want to fit-in, we may have to embrace African culture, even it means releasing some of our Western adaptations. Eg. Learning an African language and cuisine.

I feel like being African American is like being another ethnic group in Africa . We have our own Culture that we created . We created this Unique Culture because our enslaved Ancestor’s Traditional African Cultures were forcefully taken from us . Therefore we blended numerous African Cultures together and also added our own flavor to it.

Could it be that there were so many different ethnic groups from Africa and also the ethnic groups that were already here. This mixture of black ethnic groups created black excellence? 🤔🧐

You created an unique "culture," upon the Afrikan cultural paradigms you came with to this country (we did not get here empty) incorporating the manifestations of our new reality! I see many Afrikan cultural expressions in Afrikans in the Americas (all the Americas, speech, mannerisms, attitude, etc.)! It is an evolution of our Afrikan indigenous culture, not a new culture, but an extension of it. Culture is not static, but dynamic/fluid. Culture adapts to new realities, environments, situations, needs, etc. Singing, dancing, are but expressions of culture, not culture. Culture informs one's reality, world view, identity interaction with others and nature. A peoples culture is their immune system!

Definitely. I would like to have that conversation with you Brudda Ekow. A discussion about our African American culture compared to an African culture is needed because our histories are intertwined. I can give specifically a unique Afro Creole cultural perspective from the New Orleans, Louisiana viewpoint. There's a lot we have in common as well as a few differences. I am looking forward to connecting with you. Akyirii.

My brother it all starts with authenticity and our willingness to learn from each other. God has allowed me to visit Nigeria three times and I am forever grateful for Him giving me that experience. From those trips God created loving relationships with brothers and sisters not only from Nigeria but other countries on the Continent. It's been seven years since I've been in Nigeria and my hope is one day God willing He'll give me another opportunity to visit the Motherland once again. Keep doing what you do my brother. Peace

This is a good idea. I follow a lot of Ghanaians and Nigerians on twitter and ive learned a lot about ghana and nigeria. I found out that my roots trace back to the Yoruba people through African ancestry and they tell me about yoruba culture all the time. This is also a good idea because thats how I ended up out there in 2019. Wode maya did a live chat and i asked him the best time to come out there, he said December. Then i heard about the year of return and flew out there by myself. A lot of people knew i was going and i ended up hooking up with a group of girls that went on a tour of cape coast and the slave monuments out there. While I was out there I actually ran into wode maya while i was at one of the castles. Hes a pretty cool guy. So that was dope. Every since then ive felt super connected just from following people from there and reading what they talk about. I would have hung out with you, but you told me you were in Accra at the time. So.. next time lol

We never said and dont say I LOVE U, we showed /show it more, and i think its ok, thats the differences in CULTURES like u said, we dont all universally have to have the same uniform cultures/traditions, otherwise, what will be the purpose of having a culture to make you who u become, or proudly explain to another curious mind...otherwise there will not be history of a people.

Black-American culture ---> Food? African-Americans have 'soul-food'. Music? We created jazz, hip-hop, blues, r&b, southern gospel, funk, house, rock & roll and more...Educational Institutions? We have HBCU's (historically black colleges). Kwame Nkrumah even attended an HBCU for college. Language? We have Ebonics. Religions? Nation of Islam, Hoodoo, 5 percent, Hebrew Isrealite. Dance? Too many to name Lol. Holidays? Juneteenth, Kwanzaa. Games? You can even go down to the micro-level of Black American hand-games we played as children. You'll have to ask the women about this one. Organizations? Jack & Jill, Divine 9 etc... These things aren't a part of American POP-Culture which is why people seem to forget what African-American really is. Like you're saying, you have to get to know people. Keep building bridges my brother. It means a lot.

It's really the truth you must be running from because that is the mentality that still exists in Ghana when you lie. Why do you think we should all forget, the guilty as charged. Your own historians in I" indigenous Slavery of Ghana"have written the truth but do school teach it. So clearly you are not talking about the hard truths of how we got to dungeons. Most Ghanaians have never been inside the dungeons. We had to face it when we went through the door of no return. 'm saying why not face the truth. Ghana suffered and is still suffering because they sold away the best to America's. When you see America the slaves build it. One way or another we will have to eventually address that elephant in the room.

Strong up Ekow, I never met you in person, But hi think you're a good person, And are also doing a great job connecting our People back to the motherland, Respect, Tell That Chinese Gal Moy, the so call Queen that hi Leon Said, she is an [ Thief, Extortionist and a liar, As for you Ekow, Am not telling you how to live your life, But that Gal Moy is only using you to get people into her place, She will play nice to you because you're playing a very important role into her life, As for me, and am pretty sure all who rented her place is all about extorting us, it is all about the money for that so call Queen and hustler, That gal and hi have a very good Relationship on youtube before we met, So hi think, until hi got there, On my preparations coming to Ghana, She ask me to bring some expensive Liquor and salt fish for her, I bought them except for one of the liquor which was more expensive then the other two put together, She is the one hat arrange with a guy to come and pick me up, and also tell me the price to pay him, So when hi got to her place hi pay the guy before hi even go into her house, While i was inside she realize that hi paid the guy, She immediately telling me that she told me not to give him the money, which is a lie, She then shout out very loud to the guy telling him to bring the money come, That Gal and hi never have any conversation about me not paying the guy, That was a blatant lie to my face, Right away hi pay her for my time that hi would be there, right away, her actions tells me that it was just about the money, She even want me to go on the road to change money even though it was getting dark, She give me rice and calalloo with salt fish, two bottle of water, A cup of tea which hi did thank her for, Hi then Give her the liquor while the salt fish was still rap up inside the same bag with her stuff, Some how she did not see the salt fish, By than hi went up steers and after a short while she came up there saying Leon, You didn't hear me shouting loud, hi said no, She said when she see the salt fish she shout very loud and think hi hear her, She then said she was so happy to see the salt fish, Then turn to me and said, Leon hi don't know what am going to do to show you some appreciations, I did not respond, Hi was expecting her to make some kind of adjustment in the payment of the rent, She charging me 40USD per night and expecting me to bring all that stuff for free, Hell no, The short time am there staying in my room, Hi beginning to realize that it was all about the money for her, She never come one day and ask me how am doing, Base on our connection on youtube, My plan was to spent some time there, go to the Gambia then come back there, At that point hi decided that when hi left hi wasn't going back there, Then hi text her telling that hi need my money for the stuff that she ask me to buy, Her reply was, Hi taught it was Gift, Hi said, Am not that financial stable to give you all that stuff, So she ask me how much was it was, Hi told her that the receipts are all on the stuff, Then after a while she told me to come and collect my money, So after my time up hi left, On my way back to Ghana, from the Gambia Hi spent the rest of my tine in Accra, Paying the same 40USD in Accra, Getting room Service, Getting breakfast every morning, Plus security, It cost me 15 Ghana CD from the Airport to the hotel, As to paying 70 UDS to her place and Back, But if you ask loser so call Queen Gal moy what is her role in been That so call Queen, Her answer would be Am helping the Diasporan to integrate, Oh yes that damn loser and criminal, All the best King
