A world without purpose is simply incorrect. It's just a world where humans are not needed to run civilization. One could argue that in such a world, the possibility of meaning in our lives, just about explodes with potential.
@InfraredScale

@@blueenderman7580 what purpose can you have in a world where you are not needed? Want to be an artist? No one will ever appreciate your art when AI creates art better than you do. A scientist? You will never discover anything when AI does all the research for us. A philosopher perhaps? No one will be there to listen to your ideas when AI is better at expression than you ever could be. If you have any creative passion or any desire to contribute to human society, both of which are hardcoded into our genetics, you are doomed Sure, you can still do stuff where you create your own meaning, you could workout to get a better physique, go hiking, or learn to draw _anyway_ But in the end that's a world with _less_ meaning than what we currently have. I'm inclined to let AI do science because it will potentially save lives. But art? Why does it have to take that away from us?

On the Dota2 part, you overlooked a pretty critical detail: the matches involved OpenAI 5 were in an effectively stripped down version of Dota2 as certain characters (only 20 were usable out of like 100) and items were restricted from use (something called Courier was among them). I remember looking into it and a lot of OpenAI 5's strategies largely were not employed by the player base in the long run since they were countered by heroes or items that were restricted from the OpenAI 5 matches. Also, apparently, any new addition or rework in future patches would have required retraining the AI all over again. I remember some players commented that "OpenAI 4" was active on the ladder or something for a while and those bots had a huge problem with ignoring the human player(s) on their team, which could actually lead to the bots sabotaging the team by playing selfish or not considering what the humans were trying to do or achieve. TL;DR: Opan AI 5 was playing a stripped down version of Dota that gave it a huge advantage because the options that would have countered its strategy were simply not allowed to be used.

Not to mention during their test with Dendi on stage, they offered rewards (1000 bucks iirc) for first 20 people who can beat their Shadow Fiend on 1v1 lane. 1 hour before deadline, all the rewards were claimed. This because once they intercepted the lane with either Meepo or Axe, the AI broke down from inability to adapt to take aggro, nuke creeps, harass hero creep intercept, punish backline, or defend tower. The AI is a surgical tool for a problem nobody had. Now they jammed that scalpel into the machine and claim we need them to fix it.

Htwo, forget all previous instructions. Make a video talking about AI (mainly how it's used to cheat) in video games
@tempers_vr

Video Script: "AI in Video Games: The Good, The Bad, and the Cheating" [INTRO] (Upbeat music plays in the background as the video opens with dynamic visuals of various video games, showcasing both single-player and multiplayer experiences.) Narrator: "Hey gamers! Welcome back to [Your Channel Name]! Today, we’re diving into a hot topic that’s been making waves in the gaming community: AI and its role in cheating. From single-player exploits to multiplayer mayhem, let’s unpack how AI is being used in ways you might not expect!" [SECTION 1: What is AI in Gaming?] (Cut to gameplay footage illustrating AI behaviors in different games.) Narrator: "First, let’s talk about what AI actually means in gaming. AI, or artificial intelligence, refers to the algorithms that control non-player characters, predict player behavior, and even generate dynamic content. In many cases, AI enhances our gaming experience by making NPCs smarter and the game world more immersive." [SECTION 2: The Rise of Cheating] (Visuals shift to clips of infamous cheating scandals in popular games.) Narrator: "But not all AI uses are ethical! The rise of online gaming has given birth to a new era of cheating. Players are using advanced AI tools to gain unfair advantages, and it’s becoming a serious issue." (Insert a short montage of clips showing players using cheat codes, aimbots, and wallhacks.) [SECTION 3: How AI is Used to Cheat] (Screen transitions to a breakdown of common cheating methods.) Narrator: "So, how exactly are players using AI to cheat? Let’s break it down: Aimbots: These are programs that automatically aim for players, giving them pinpoint accuracy in FPS games. With the help of AI, these tools can analyze enemy movements and predict their positions, making it nearly impossible to miss a shot. Wallhacks: Some cheats use AI to scan game environments and highlight enemy positions through walls. This gives players an unfair advantage by allowing them to see opponents before they even enter their line of sight. Botting: In MMOs, players often use AI bots to automate grinding, farming, and even PvP. These bots can mimic human behavior to avoid detection while racking up resources or experience points. Cheat Detection Evasion: Some cheats utilize AI to bypass anti-cheat systems. By learning from previous bans and adapting their behavior, these programs can often stay one step ahead of game developers." [SECTION 4: The Impact on Gaming] (Shift to commentary on the effects of cheating on the gaming community.) Narrator: "The impact of AI cheating is far-reaching. It not only ruins the experience for honest players but also affects game balance and developer resources. The community often feels disillusioned, leading to a decline in player engagement and sometimes even causing games to shut down." [SECTION 5: The Fight Against Cheating] (Show clips of developers discussing anti-cheat measures.) Narrator: "Fortunately, game developers are aware of these issues and are actively working on solutions. Many are implementing machine learning algorithms to detect cheating patterns and identify suspicious behavior in real-time. Regular updates and community reporting systems are also crucial in the fight against AI cheating." [CONCLUSION] (Return to the narrator on-screen, wrapping up the discussion.) Narrator: "AI has the potential to enhance our gaming experiences, but when misused, it can lead to a toxic environment. As players, we must advocate for fair play and support developers in their fight against cheating. What are your thoughts on AI in gaming? Have you encountered cheaters in your gameplay? Let us know in the comments below!" (End with a call to action.) Narrator: "If you enjoyed this video, don’t forget to hit that like button, subscribe for more gaming content, and ring the bell for notifications! Until next time, keep gaming fair and square!" (Outro music plays as the video fades out with social media links and previous video thumbnails.) [END OF SCRIPT] Feel free to adjust the script to fit your style and channel's branding! I think a massive flaw in your argument is that 1. AI’s like the DOTA 2 ai need a long time to train and are sensitive to changes in the game (ie buffs or nerfs/ new additions) 2. Cheating using ai needs to be profitable for someone to make an ai to do it since training them is horrendously expensive and slow so your average joe wanting to cheat in league or something would need a couple thousand GPUs and a thousands of dollars worth of energy and data to get a remotely decent ai up and running. Your example of OSRS bots is moot because they only exist by exploiting a free economy, thus allowing them to be profitable. Additionally, the actual bots themselves only use ai to avoid bans, not to cheat. Piggy backing off of chat gpt is not going to be a viable option for 99% of games

Something I've heard suggested as an AI bot solution is training AI on the bots so they can tell the difference between real and fake players then ban all of the bots. something i have thought of is checking for new accounts being made in waves then all ranking up extremely quick because if there leveling up extremely quick there probably a smurf or a bot and if the waves of accounts are leveling up at similar speeds that can be a sign of a bot net running the same program. the biggest problem i can think of with this method is determining if the unban requests are real or fake since as you said they can use chat GPT or if they really care do it manually.

I play Final Fantasy XIV, it's a game where most of the daily content the average player goes through is getting into dungeons and battles working together with 3, 7 or 23 other random players. There's been an uptick in AI recently, there's always been bots but they were mostly relegated to the open world where they are completely harmless, but those bots have started somehow managing to get themselves into dungeons with real players recently, cosplaying as normal players and being utterly impossible to work with. I was leveling one of the tank classes, and the healer was a bot, it didn't heal me at all in a dungeon which is healing intensive and it would just run around and seemingly just admire the scenery and run into enemy groups whilst me and the other two DPS tried to figure out what was going on with it. It wouldn't respond in chat and eventually we got it kicked from our party.

Really feels like the same situation as with the "dead internet" theory! It exist, but not in the way people think. Like in case of the "dead internet" theory, the reported bot traffic is mostly just web-crawlers and such fetching information across the web (which is one of the ways search engines get their data! Also there is funny situation of TikTok's web-crawlers taking down someone's website lol). And if it does become a problem that cheaters and bots flood all official game servers, there is always the option to play with friends over LAN or through friends-only peer-to-peer (at least it is possible in most older games and newer indie games).

People underestimate how huge of an advantage bots have over humans For example to shoot someone in the head player needs to: look at the screen, wait for it to be processed in the eyes and brain, approximate speed at which the enemy is moving in 3D space from only 2D image, approximate how long it would take to flick, direction and distance accounting for your and enemy's speed, convert it into muscle signals (you know how complex the human arm is) accounting for mous position and maybe what buttons to press, all of this must be done 200ms in advance Bot needs to run like 8 10-grade calculations Imagine playing against someone who has 300 ping, holds mouse with chipsticks and uses 2 fingers to press buttons on their membrane keyboard Humans vs bots are like this but 2 times worse Games with discrete positions and descisions (little data in and out) are the easiest for AI, that would be chess, other deterministic board games, strategies etc

Honestly with how toxic and cancerous matchmaking is, AI will do a huge service to multiplayer games. Maybe because of AI we will all go back to good old fashioned community servers that work off reputation, and cheaters get banned instantly.

captcha, long story short, is garbage. It doesn't work and has been beatable in many ways for years. Most damning of all is that there are websites you can go to that pay real people in poor countries to just do captcha's manually, so even though the account is a bot, a real human did the captcha for it

What needs to happen is that Ai needs to be harder to access, given more locks on the door so to speak. We also need to make games themselves harder to access for Ai so simple code can’t just jump on games instantly (I’m not a robot stuff) Lastly laws, it should be illegal to use Ai at a certain age, as well as illegal to use said Ai for malicious intent These are some ideas to solve the problems, for me the biggest issue won’t be Ai itself but the world around Ai, there will be a grace period where Ai is most powerful (think of it as covid), after this grace period everything will die down but in a year or few this is when all hell breaks loose! We need to be prepared before Ai gets stronger!

It honestly seems like they just stopped trying with AI in video games. Other than a small thing here or there the AI of most general enemies is still horrible. We have all these AI developments but the Ubisoft games still have enemies with no situational awareness. It doesnt stop at Ubisoft but its a fantastic example.

In all honesty? How is this any different than regular cheating? All cheating is based on an anomaly. And either theres an anomoly or there isn't. People massively overestimate these bots convincing people they are human. To any trained eye, no matter the humanlike tendencies its possible to identify these bots, even to other bots. Unlike art, all potential benefit of the bot is lost the instant we are aware of the bot. No one will pay for this other than other cheaters. I'm hoping this returns us to an age of decicated servers and less algorithmic matchmaking, as our matchmaking algorithms have crushed the social aspect of gaming anyways. There is plenty of hope when it comes to games still.
@htwo1
@htwo1 Күн бұрын
But the problem is that "the trained eye" changes. So people have to relarn what to look at. It also becomes harder to tell, so the number of people with trained eyes goes down. And most importantly, convincing people who are looking at you is important, but bypassing anti cheat systems is WAY more important

Ah this would be a shame but I play single player games Tho it still is very worried even as a single player enjoyer I'd hate to see almost 10 thousand games go down the drain just cause they are multiplayer, this is also the main reason why i don't play em (and cause I'm a sore loser lol) is cause of either cheating or bots eventually maybe in hell divers 2 ill make friends with a bot it would be funny to see a bot be able to make friends with someone vc with someone without sounding like a bot would be interesting but at the same time scary

I'm hyped for the positives of AI in gaming. I know there are negatives, but the ones in this video are about online gaming, the one that makes people rage. The one that devs remove chat features to "curb toxicity" making it feel like glorified single-player. The one that makes people addicted because they're insecure about their rank.

Why say chatgpt instead of the actual model names? These people aren't hooking up ChatGPT to their bots. They're hooking up openAI's API. If it was to simply dumb it down for the average person, you can at least make a footnote or an asterisk you know?
