The reason why I love Aizawa as a teacher is that in most series, they make the main character the most loved one, the teachers pet, and overall a really bad character (im sorry) but with this, although Deku is the main character, Aizawa wouldn't care less and would treat him the same as any other student misbehaving. Thank you, Mr. Aizawa, for not being as biased... Edit: Getting lots of comments kinda asking the same question. No, I don't think Midoriya is a bad character. That was not what I was trying to say at all. Just trying to say that a lot of main characters are that really cliche "omg everyone loves you" type, which I personally think is very annoying and unrealistic. And with those main characters, they also make the teachers like them A LOT too. Like, even though they technically failed a test, they still got like a B or something just because the teacher "felt bad". Mr. Aizawa is DEFINITELY not that kind of teacher, and wouldn't go around giving Midoriya free A's just because he is the main character, which is something I really like about him. So yeah, not trying to say that I dislike Midoriya in any sort of way :)

It's just that in most series they make the main characters like a goody-two-shoes, and everybody loves them, and "oMg, ____ Is aMazIng" and although some stuff is true for Midoriya, the biggest flaw I see with main characters in general is that they are loved by almost everyone. Mr. Aizawa doesn't care that his quirk is powerful, and treats him like how he would to any other student, which overall doesn't make Midoriya the most loved person. Sorry if it was hard to understand

He was also really insecure and kinda down about his Quirk, so here I think it's kind of tough love but he wanted Shinso to stop talking down on himself and take pride in his efforts haha.

The thing about the capture weapon is that one of the first times we see Aizawa use it his hands are in his pocket and it just floats and moves on its own, even though every other time he's clearly manipulating it with his hands.

Aizawa may come off as overly strict sometimes but he cares deeply for his students. His brand of tough love is meant to refine their behavior as well as make them heroes. Coddling does not make good people, it turns people selfish and reinforces bad behaviors, and abuse causes them to hate authority and makes rebellion seem cool.
