Hojlunds movement (1:20) has been a problem for quite some time now (touch and passing is also oof). He is quick but predictable. I think Amorim will have to experiment with all our forwards in the 9 to see who provides the most balance. In terms of movement, technical ability, awareness, and compatibility with our front 3

don't see zirkzee being tried in the gyokeres role. he could possibly get minutes in that inverted winger role but we have too many options for those roles

@petercarolan9416 JZ could do both. Remember, Amorim used Paulinho as a false 9 at sporting, which allowed the 10's to push further forward. But I could also see Rashford there his touch and timing of runs is better than Hojlund's imo. Depends if ruben wants to emulate the Gyokeres or Paulinho model upfront.

I totally agree but we don't have any forwards. Rashford can't really play as the striker effectively, Zirkzee is completely incompatible with the style Amorim requires. There is nobody but Hojland and if he doesn't improve quickly we need to bench him and buy Goykeres or someone that is ready to lead the line for the second most decorated club in England.

It looks to me like Ineos group had identified Ruben Amorim before the start of this season because a number of targets are his type of players, except if it's a strong coincidence. Ugarte and Alphonso Davies.

I thought exactly the same about Hojlund’s movement in that 2nd goal. His movement in the box is poor and the reason he’s not getting into goal scoring positions. As an elite striker you need to make it almost impossible for your fellow attackers not to find you by how good your movement is. Hojlund makes it possible for them to miss him constantly with his poor movement and positioning.
