I doubt you could show much if any of it... scenes like a man and woman being violated inside a salt circle while their child is torn apart in front of them and the wife being ravaged calling her husband an idiot for thinking that salt would work. Its interesting to see the comic differences between NA and Europe. Superheroes on one side, Dredd, Rogue Trooper etc on the other. Being British, 2000AD was a part of my life growing up. Im only a few years older than 2000AD itself.

A lot of the early superhero comics actually begin in Europe. The Phantom comics originally came from Norway, for example.

@@aaronbosen6743 Norwegian here, but no. While "Fantomet" were very popular here, it was made by an American named Lee Falk and didn't get published here until 3 years after its initial release. That said, Egmont Publishing had it's own team of writers and artists, so there are a lot (about 900 stories) of Nordic Phantom comic books you won't find in English

At one point, Dredd is dealing with people that want a return to the America of old. So he uses his influence to arrange a vote, and oversees it to keep it honest. The masses overwhelming voted to keep the Judge system.

Growing up as a kid in the UK, 2000A.D. was my comic of choice, not sure if my parents ever knew what was depicted in those pages and probably wasn’t the best for a preteen. Glad I grew up in the eighties.😁

There is a three book series detailing the very early judges simply called Judges. Its a great set of books detailing the transitions between the old system of law enforcement and the onset of the judge system. I heartily recommend them.

I first came across Judge Dredd comics back in the early 80's and was blown away. The art and the stories were of a rough and gritty dystopian future and I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately getting those comics in my town here on the west cost of America were very hit and miss. I always wondered what had happened to America that led to the Mega Cities, the Judges, recycled food, etc. Thanks Arch! Great video :)

Arch, this is definitely something I d like more of. I read the comic sporadically as a kid, country Australia is not a regular hub obviously, and so was always at a loss to complete or understand any of the multi episodic stories. But Dredd being the badass he is it hardly mattered. I was devastated that the Dredd movie failed, it was a mystery to my, but there’s no denying it when you’re sitting in an empty theatre watching. So feel free to cover some of the grander storyline’s, I need the catchup anyway.

If there's lore I enjoy assimilating nigh as much as that of *the grim darkness of the far future,* it would be that of the Judge Dredd mythos. Which is, coincidentally, also grim and Dark...just not as far futuristic as the former... I guess I'm just fascinated by dystopian shenanigans. I'm rambling... Strangley enough Battletech has a bit of lore probably inspired by Dredd, it talks about visitors being able to visit the one time capital of America and going to the White House Memorial. And praising the action taken against the last American President and several Senator's as a liberation.

I am currently reading Judge Dredd Complete Case Files 1. It is so gloriously cheesy. The dialogue is so silly but slaps so hard considering the context. I fully reccomend case files.

Arch, I was initially not interested in this video but 11 days later it came up on auto play and so I let it go on. In the end, I was thoroughly happy with this video and I would definitely love to hear more lore in the future. I definitely need some Judge Dredd logistics.
