Enjoyed it, finally found the time to look into it

I did a lot of looking around and I am pretty sure that “STABIL” is a bulk chemical from Innospec called AO-22. It’s single ingredient is N,N’-di-sec-butyl-p-phenylenediamine. Even per wikipedia is it a “red liquid”. The other alkylated phenols they produce are “straw or amber colored” so unless dyed by the dyes they do produce, I am pretty sure this is correct. Also their website even says that phenylene diamine antioxidants are best for olefin content over 10% and I believe out gasoline is around 18%. I could be completely wrong.

Not super familiar with fuel stabilisers but it stands to reason that they operate in much the same way as the antioxidant packages in lubricants.

Hello. could you tell me why phenolic and amine additives are usually not added more than 3% to the base oil? Is there any research on this issue

I'm wondering what type of Antioxidant is being used for Turbo Compressor in fertilizer application. Because it seems standard Turbine Oil Antioxidants don't really work well with the presence of Ammonia.

Great point! In compressor application the gas being compressed often interacts with the oil. With Ammonia being a relatively polar molecule, most of the oils recommended for Ammonia compression are PAO synthetics. However - they're generally not designed specifically for ammonia compression, so the antioxidants are likely to be the same as in most other oils.

ZDDP is an antioxidant ?

Yes! Although it works a different way - it's a peroxide decomposer instead of radical scavenger.
