Really appreciate the transparency about using what works for you, stating that it may not work every time all the time, and just being so relatable.

I have a question..what if your a working mom, and baby goes to day care or a relative watches her what happens to EC then? Im sure the daycare or babysitter isnt going to follow thru. Maybe a relative but they dont know how to recognize the babies cues! What do you do in that scenario? You dont want all the progress youve made to go back to square one..my kids are grown and grandkids are teenagers but i just find EC so interesting and amazing and it makes all the sense in the world!!

It is true that most daycares don't want anything to do with EC (for now, but increasing demand may change that), but it's really easy to teach a nanny, babysitter, or grandparent the cues and how to do it! We have had an au pair, I taught her how to do EC with my daughter early on and she does a great job keeping up with it, even with two children to look after. But if a family needs to use daycare, they can still do "part time EC" with the baby at home and most babies understand and continue to make progress!

My partner and I both work full time out of the house, and for various reasons it was more affordable to choose an au pair than to have two kids in full time daycare where we live (literally would have been twice our mortgage). Nanny shares or time swaps with other families are also an option, they just require some more work up front to arrange but there are options when it comes to childcare if a family can't find a daycare that is willing to support EC

I personally found baby no 1 who wasn’t EC harder work all the blow outs the changing the nappy 3 times in a row because they just kept pooing and I had zero idea of cues. Also you don’t have to catch every single thing it’s easy to get obsessive at first they aren’t like that in traditional EC cultures, I’ve since learnt

Exactly! So many blowouts 😅 Now that I know WHY she's crying I can much more easily solve the problem, there was so much crying with our first and we just had no clue how to help him. I feel like second baby is much more peaceful, largely because of EC

I really appericate this video although, i would actually start at 6 months because your baby is still not the sitting age yet it could cause the baby to have arthritis once they hit their late or mid 30s. I know this because my grandma use to do the same thing potty traning and doing everything early on in my dad and his twin's lives. I do really like the way you explain everything in a respectful manner. Just a little tip though. i do think people could actually benefit from this though. Thank you! ☺❤

Super cool that your grandma practiced this back in the day! I'll have to do some research on any development impacts it could have, thanks for bringing that up! There are lots of different positions you can use to potty a baby, so hopefully folks can find one that works for them and their baby ☺️

You have to hold them in a supported way so that no pressure on babies hips of back. It is perfectly safe to go that.

@@ekcs3941 I appreciate the feedback, but I would still say 6 months is the most appropriate age to potty train your babies just because they're backs are better developed and they have more support as well on top of that your support while you hold the baby for the potty. Thank you, for the information! :)

@@elinasvideodiary that’s fine in many cultures baby is rested on mothers feet or held in arms before this age where EC is normal.

You're absolutely right! Sustainability and reducing waste was a huge reason we looked into EC in the first place, but after getting started we realized there are so many other benefits too!
